How many of us dont acually fly bms that much?
-
Same here, haven’t really had the time to fly BMS for almost 2 years now. I actually tried to take time for BMS, but since is started working, i prefer spending the free time i have doing things that seem more valuable to me than BMS at the moment. I guess BMS is down my priority list right now.

I think it’s pretty much par for the course if you have a young family to take care of. There are times when I maybe fly only once every couple of weeks, but I’ve made it a habit to go to the tanker at least once in order to not lose or un-learn the little skills I have in BMS to begin with.
I feel that BMS is part of a larger passion I have for all things aviation, so in between reading books, watching aviation related stuff on yt and classic tv BMS fits right in.
I also started a new fresh Balkans “powderkeg” campi this week and I’m trying to do a “quick” mission out of Amendola per day, using different equipment each time to lean new things and to improve on the familiar stuff. Going straight to taxi I can do a mission in an hour or so, studying the ACMI afterwards at my own leisure when I find some time.
All the best, uwe

I know I personally dont have anywhere near the hours Id like. Not even meeting my self imposed RAP requirements atm

I guess it’s been 10 years or more I haven’t, when I joined OF (2003 IIRC). Beta testing wasn’t really flying. Now that I am dev, I don’t even beta test anymore so…
I remember wanting so bad all those hardcore avionics stuff back then, now I feel like I am outdated

I’ve managed to virtually fly about 120/130 hours per year on the last 3 years, which means 2 to 3 flights per week. But it leaves me with absolutely no time to play another game or sim. The last time I played something else was 2 years ago.

Never tracked my flight hours never tracked my rank.
The last 2+ years if I had more than 10 flights it will be a miracle… maybe 5 is more close to reality. this is for MP and SP, all in.
Family full time job business travels long distance of home to work … leaves me drained of energy almost every working day… so the weekend is for the family.Last 6+ months for sure none.
I even forgot basic staff and will start from basic training again when I will finish with the IKAROS Theater. Not that I help that much there (IKAROS Development), but the tiny free time I have and get in front of the home pc I try to do something for that theater.

Use tne hour where its potentially the most fun and thats multiplay. There are at least 2 public servers plus tne ability for 2 or more players in private connection.

I try to get at least two flights in per week. I need it, it’s my drug…
Greetings

good for fun but not my like that much. I have lost many flights flying with ppl that I didn’t knew their behavior and operation also they where just there and nothing more which fubars the mission totally.
I’m not taking that path anymore with such a limited free time. -
I try to get one flight in a day, usually at night when wife and young baby are sleeping.
-
I try to fly on weekends, the other days I’m busy but often fly once in two weeks
-
I try to make room for one proper flight before going to work. It’s Zen relaxation to me. Taking my time to plan the whole thing and then executing it.
-
Since SP3 days, I keep telling myself, I will get back to flying hardcore one day… But life keeps happening. I occasionally come and check if the forum is still up, development is still ongoing etc.

Hello all,
I try to fly at least once per week.
But building my pit also takes time, so I spend a lot of designing, planning, searching, programming, sawing, soldering, ….
And now my free timeslots decreased, as on the 02. Nov 2016 my gorgeous daughter was born.
Anyway, I still try to fly 1-2x per week, as like it was mentioned in a earlier post: It’s like meditation!
In this case,
Aim high and fly safe.

P.S.: I check the Forum at least 2-3 times per day -
We probably manage MP flights almost daily, but at least 5 times a week, including both weekend mornings. For our squadron, all of our kids are well into their teens or out of the house.
Usually, they are full missions, but time constraints limit us to taxiway starts. We were trying to do ramp on the weekend, but it adds another 20 mins to the mission, and we’d rather have two taxiway MP missions versus one long mission w/ramp.
We seek to make it as close to realism as possible, and with everybody seeking to execute to the team’s objectives, it does make the mission more “enjoyable”.
Love the camaraderie of MP…unless I’m training on a new weapons, I’m not so much into single player missions.

I haven’t tried to fly a campaign or go online…My thing is to tinker :)…I like to create my on TE’s,try different aircraft, theaters, and use fellow simmers mods…I have a little bit of 3D experience with Light Wave and at some point would like to do something for BMS.
This forum is a great place to learn Falcon 4…BMS has evolved into something special and anyone that has a interest in modern air combat should try BMS…So I fly almost every day (retired) all be it just tinkering.:))dfang

I’m not taking that path anymore with such a limited free time.I developed a MQT/MR assessment spreadsheet to help new guys understand this concept. I think it has at least shown how serious it is to train and fly with competent BMS pilots. But it takes a healthy combo of academic, single, and multi-player missions to get a pilot to mission ready (MR) status.

Could you share that?

When I’m home, I fly two or three times a week. Kids have moved away and being recently retired I have a fair bit of disposable time to put towards my various hobbies.
Yes there is light at the end of the tunnel guys…
