New sky textures?
-
Hi all
I have noticed that during most of my night flights, the sky really isn’t dark. I am just wondering if there are any mods that make night sky darker and more immersive? As it is now, the sky is fairly bright. I am not sure if it is because of the ambient light or moonlight.
I am using BMS 4.32 running on a I5 2500K, 16G DDR3 1600MHZ, Zotac GTX 1070, LG 27" 1080p monitor and Windows 10 x64
Thanks!

you have to edit that somewhere in a file, can’t remember which one… so no mod needed for that

Follow this path: :\Falcon BMS 4.32\User\Config (In this folder you will find the falcon bms.cfg.) The line you must find is the one marked.

I changed the default value from 0.1 to 0.0. Man, was it dark! It was a quite a change and at one point in my flight, I turned off the console lighting and couldn’t see anything. I eventually did mange to turn the console lighting back on.
Thanks again.

Nvg my friend.

That’s true. I do find the NVG is much better now that the ambient is much darker than the default.

I would like to be able to dim the gauge’s lighting, unless I missed something.
the middle two position switch just has on and off, night setting dosent work. -
How does that config line affect multiplayer? is it imposed by the host to the clients?

Correct … sky has to be bright because of the moon (which is always full in BMS). @CaptCanada:

It shouldn’t be the case … IRL, the darker the night is (from a level 1 to 5) the worse is the night-vision with NVGs. We can’t say it is a bug in BMS because the night level is not supposed to be changed by user in normal cases.

I do not think so.

Maybe since the variable is already in the .cfg would be a good idea to have a slider for the night lightning in the wx setup imposing the online setting… I can live with the full moon for a dark night but if that slider changes the moon fase texture would be even cooler
