Does anyone use BMS at a lower resolution than 1920x1080

1080p STILL won’t let me view 2 facing PDF pages in a reasonable font size. That is, unless I manually use a separate app to trim the margins. The font is still too small otherwise.
Hey,I don’t fully understand. Is there anything to take care of?
PSU breaker shorting is one thing but the thing exploding? What happened?I heavily not recommend using coins as breakers btw
Hehe, funny guy. No! I didn’t use coins for breakers, or wire. I swear
I was chatting on mobile , then out of nowhere, BLAM BLAM BLAM , and stuff was shutting down one by one. Some smoke and burned electrical stench. Cute sight.
‘My friend, this is the end of a beautiful friendship …’ I thought.
After opening that psu, nothing special …smell… one small 4x10mm (4.7u) condenser blew , right below mosfets , the cap was deformed at the top how hard it hit something… like a bullet.
I asked myself …but why did it blew 3 times ?
… after unsoldering radiator with mosfets , there I saw. One had a 3mm hole/crack in center , the other was cracked diagonally… so… there are those 3 explosions.
Probably condenser alu-foil, when blew , shorted ‘something’ and max current draw through mosfets blowing them up also in process.Given it was only (marked) 550W … it still has 30-40? amps @5V … that nice current could burn everything.
I was very very very very nicely surprised finding out nothing else got burned, almost unbelievable … probably some good Chinese soul put ‘operating quality’ surge protection in psu…Yeah … Hope nobody will ever have to testimony experience like this.
Cheers…
ps. btw … last opentrack is working very nice, little slower because of debug version-(that will come off in future?)… but precise, and steady.
(hehe, and I know your dirty little secret, what will come in next version, hint: zoom/smoothing … right? ) -
I’m not even in management…. no idea what “salaried management position” has to do with overtime.
Consider this though – if a foreigner can do this in under 5 years of being in the UK, all the while supporting a family (2 kids), wife only doing part-time work and studying at the same time, absolutely no access to any government benefits (part of the condition of my work visa), suffering a major event (father-in-law died) where we had to go home and had to fork out a lot of money to help the extended family, pay for wife+2 kids visa application, pay for 4 visa renewals, indefinite leave, english exams, Life in the UK exams, and citizenship for all 4 of us, all during the austerity period where salary has been capped since I worked here, well, somebody needs to wake up and it’s not me.-Ice, my point is, working in a salaried management position means I can work or 40 or 80 hours a week (not unknown or uncommon) and not earn a penny more than my contacted amount. I know several immigrants to the UK who can tell a similar story as you have here, and all of them command and get my respect - they certainly do show the average UK ned lazy good for nothing dole-scrounging bastards how it should be done.
BUT - as I said, not everyone has the means to spend large amounts of cash on what are essentially toys.

Same here. I work in ICT and there is no overtime in my contract, “it goes with the job”. If I work 60 hours or 80, I don’t earn a dime more. (Though I may get time in lieu, depending on circumstances.)

my main screen - triple 27" with NVIDIA surround - uses 8000x1440 with bezel correction.

goes into things like road trips and skiing holidays.
See, I don’t have skiing holidays!
it should be more flexible than actually 3D-printing and building MFDs and ICP, etc. (Although nothing beats pushing real buttons). I guess we all just make do with what we have.
Indeed! The best thing about the setup is that a few image changes later and I can have an F-18 cockpit. Nothing beats a physical, tactile response from a real switch though…. but I don’t have the time or space to build an F-16 cockpit then an F-18 cockpit…
I project onto the wall in 1920x1080 but i stretch it out to basically be like a 50 inch screen, more or less. What I deal with is some vertical warping . I actually wanted to ask, are any of you using combined displays above 50 inch max? what would you start with resolution wise baseline for that size or does size not matter. I’m really green with this, I just turn the knob till it looks right.
Ther should be no vertical warping if you’re stretching the pciture correctly. A 16:9 ratio picture should look the same whether it’s on a 15" screen or a 50" screen, the only difference is the size of the picture. For my setup with 5896x1080 resolution, I just adust the FOV so that my center screen still shows what would be shown in a single 1920x1080 setup.

Screen size. 1080p on 24" and the font can be small, 27" or bigger and the font is readable. Heck, I use my living room TV, 40" or so at 1080p and it’s more than readable!

Ah, I see. I didn’t know stuff like that existed HERE; I thought you’d get paid for what work you’ve done or the hours you’ve been in. As for toys, well…

Maybe need glasses? Then again, it’ll also depend on the actual font size used by the document….

It’s these margins, man. And there’s no reader auto-cropping the margins on Windows. Need a separate program. I checked exhaustively and then triple-checked.

Yeah, fair enough. Font size, margins (borders), etc. are the factors, NOT necessarily the monitor size in this case.

Personaly i would place them in portrait, and buy another underneath in landscape or on top centered.
It would be perfect. The lowered or uppee one in landscape would be about the size of the three portraited… and a vga killer overall. [emoji38]sent from my mi5 using Tapatalk
