YAME64 suite

@usafpga:
My YAME CRASHES almost every time I use it for MP sessions, and when it does, my session is lost. It also happens alot of times when I’m in SP and I have to Alt - Tab out of BMS to restart it!! I’ve tried giving this program a chance, but it keeps letting me down. Does anyone have ANY solutions to this problem, or has anyone else experienced anything like this with this program? It’s a wonderful program, but it will not continue to run for me. I’m using the latest version by the way.
FRUSTRATED!!!
Can you give more informations? Your system, what yame configuration are you using, hook or not… even better you can send your layout and config file.

Hi guys,
I wanted to try this for my cockpit and started on setting it up. First of all: it looks great (and works great)!. Thanks for the hard work.
In my cockpit i use rotated screens. So it is essential for me that it is possible to rotate the MFD’s. Is that feature available? I read in the manual that the rotate function will appear with right mouse button if available. I see hide and align with grid. The rotate option does not appear for the MFDs (or i hope i might be missing something here?)thanks for your time.
greetings Snowman

Hi snowman,
In v1.1 (and v1.2rc) we only have rotation available for master Caution and eyebrows IIRC.
Are you sure you can’t turn your screens in Windows setup? I remember doing that with a monitor at work to have it vertical.Greetz

Hi Faan, thanks for the explanation (and fast reply) . I will try the Windows option thx!

I rotate mine in the nVidia control panel.

No problem.
This is how I did it on my Windows pc a while back. (not my screenshot, but that’s how it looked in Win7) -

FaanWhat is v1.2rc? Was I asleep at the wheel when the latest version released?

RC stands for release candidate. It’s an internal version, more finished then beta status, but not finished to be released yet (1 nasty bug for server + multiple clients).

I had a lot of crashes too. I am using YAME over LAN on a server/client config.
My client was the one crashing, what would my extracted MFDs and gauges freeze. I had to restart the YAME client to get it to work again.
Yesterday after reading your post I tried to change some YAME settings to see if I could narrow the problem down.
Apparently the problem with my config was the anti-aliasing for the MFDs. I use three different client windows, one for the gauges, and one for each of the MFDs. I was antialiasing both MFDs windows.
Today I deactivated the anti-aliasing and I logged a couple of hours without YAME crashing.
I will try to be more specific once I can look into it a little bit deeper.
FYI my client PC is an i3 with a gtx580 (can’t remember the driver version)
I have to try with different settings with Nvidia inspector for the anti-aliasing.
All in all it’s a long shot, but worth the try

Hi guys,
small question:
Is there a way to order the gauges? E.g. now ADI is on top but the bezel overlaps the other gauges (i have a bezel on my cockpit, so just need the internal instrumentation).
this i could solve in 2 ways: select no bezel (like HSI) or have the ability to control which gauge is on top of the other. Both i could not find as a possibility.
(if you have other idea’s let me know )thanks Snowman

Yes, in 1.2-rc, you can use numpad +/- to move a gauge one position up/down the layers. Depending on where the other gauge is in the xml, you might need to hit that a couple of times. Or you can order them in the layout xml directly.
In 1.1 for now it’s only possible via the layout xml directly.select no bezel (like HSI)
Not possible I’m afraid with most gauges that have moving parts in the background. You can delete the bezel from the appropriate texture image in the /gauges/ folder but then you’ll notice that for example the flags and the ball texture are visible where the bezel used to be, so not useable if no real bezel is hiding that stuff. -
Thx!
You might want to consider adding move up and move down items to the right mousemenu?
Of course numpad will also work

This is a good idea, thank you.

This is a good idea, thank you.
Agreed. Added to our internal issue tracker for the roadmap.

This is really cool! I have a touchscreen tablet that I’d like to put the MFDs onto. However while getting the MFD display itself set up was straightforward, I can’t seem to figure out how to put the actual buttons around it. Is it possible to get the MFDs to show and have working buttons?

I don’t think that YAME allows you to do the buttons. Roccio correct me if I’m wrong.
That’s why we use touchscreens to go with Helios.

Not in current v1.1
In future v1.2 you will have touchable mfd (f16 & f18), Icp (regular & block60), center pedestal, master Caution, atd, twp, twa, machmeter index, altimeter pressure, adi horizon, hsi/ehsi… -
Thanks for the wonderfull YAME-software!!!
As I’m using YAME 32bit on my client-pc as well,
I’m just wondering if this little error could have been fixed in the announced new version of YAME:Thank you very much for the 32b
A stupid question….How to Stop/Close 32b version?
seems to be an issue with the 32bit version. Placed in our tracker as critical bug.
Thanks in advance!

I have no 32 bit PC, so I can hope that the next version will fix this issue.
