I think we could really use a new B-52H model, not?
That J-32 is fantastic by the way, itās always been one of my all time favourite Swedish Air Force aircraft - I only got to see a hand full of them before they retired.

J-32s, SK60sā¦ How awesome is this?! Whatās next, J-35? or did I miss that one already?

The thread starter lists the a/c we plan to make new skins onā¦. all the Drakens and Gripens will get a fresh coat of paint at some point in the future. We started out with basic skins as placeholders - but hi-resolution skins have always been part of the plan.

Had some trouble deciding on the proper colors - these aircraft vary quite a bit over the years. I havenāt decided whether or not to put the hi-vis red panels on. It seems these be appropriate for a neutral country trying to avoid accidental engagement. But, for a wartime scenario or non-training missions, I am not sure these hi-vis panels would be present. If anyone knows for sure one way or the other please let me know and cite a source/reference. Same for colors matched to FS595 standards with RGB mix ratios would be greatly appreciated.
next stop is the SK60C

I havenāt seen SK60Bs in the light attack role since the 90s, back where were still J-32s and J-35s around. Back then Iād frequently see them flying around with rockets, I donāt recall ever seeing them with AIM-9s but thatās not to say they couldnāt carry them. Post the retirement of the J-35 and J-37, Iāve only seen them in either their silver training colours or in camo with day glow panels applied. I suspect, but Iām not sure, that they may have lost their light attack role in those years. However Iād say it would be unlikely to see them flying around wearing day glow panels around combat zones though, so the scheme is pretty accurate as it is?
So I think the answer to your question is entirely time dependent.

Thanks for the input. . . for now I am sticking with the low-vis scheme . . . I may add a second skin set with a variation of the colors perhaps more weathering or something. Will see if anyone else has some input.
-
Go with the low vis and you are good. The red paint is just there to prevent accidents during practice/ peace time.
The armament Iāve seen and know of is either 12 unguided rockets 6 on each wing in pairs on 3 pylons per wing or two Gun pods on the middle pylon of each wing. -
I should perhaps start another thread for wpns loadouts . . . it is always nice to have input. I have the same internet resources everyone has. CCC and I regularly are trying to decide what to put on these a/c if we lack really good input.
The Wiki indicates:
Armament: 6 hardpoints, AAMs, ASMs, gun pods, bombs, rocketsX-Encyclopedia:
6 hardpoints allowing up to 700kg (1,543 lb) of payload: 2 x Saab Rb05 ASM missiles
2 x AIM-9 Sidewinder/Rb24 AAM missiles
Pods for 30 mm or 12,7 mm cannons
12 X 135mm, 127mm or 75mm rockets
250kg (550lb) bombs, cluster bombs and rocket launcher pads.Obviously, the more stuff we put on the SK60 the more fun you can have. The a/c is not a heavy lifter so whatever we put on is going to be limited. I dontā remember if we have a gun pod for it or not. Ideally, we want to be realistic - the other is Falcon is for fun - sometimes we can choose to āenhanceā realism so it makes it more fun to play. Lastly, on some things we are limited by the game itself on how even or relative we can make these a/c in the game.
Part of the problem for this a/c is it is kind of old - which is perfect for our CWC campaigns - we wanted something older to fit in along with the Lansen and Draken - but current usage I think the a/c is now really being used as a trainer and for the aerobatic team. Not sure of the status of the SK60C - the one with optics in the extended nose . . . guessing for target acquisition so differents weapons. Hopefully, we can find a nice balance for folks to find something to enjoy.

I ran across this picture of a āwinterā scheme for the SK60 . . . anyone know if this is real or fiction?
-
looks like a real one.

This next one is a Saab Sk60C from Sweden. While there is no Academy kit of this (wouldnāt that be a treat?), there are a couple of 1/72 scale beasts that could be tamed to provide this interesting scheme. As with the Hunter, the gray portion was painted over with a white distemper, leaving the dark green and blue gray undersurfaces. This Sk60 had an earlier style of āFARAā warning triangle on the air intakes. Later ones have a green triangle outlined in yellow with FARA in yellow. No time frame on this one either, but my best guess is mid to late seventies.

Okay, this sounds like a pretty easy mod of the existing skin - just swapping the darker blue/green upper surface for a whitewashing . . . and adding a different air intake stencil. Is it better to just include the winter scheme as a second skin or maybe just put in a link for downloading and user to decide whether to use it or not? I havenāt given a lot of thought to winterizing Nordic skins . . . putting them in with a regular model could wind up generating winter skins during non-winter time periods which will look out of place . . . but the same is true for a winter scenario. F4Patch is a great way to build in a winter option - - ie swap out the vehicle summer skins for winter skins and then swap out selected aircraft that we can find legitimate winter specific skins. I have come across a few and if others have some references for Nordic models - please post or PM me . . . if I can come up with enough material I might be able to put together something really interesting for a winter specific sceneario. It might be fun to see just how wintery we can get.
