@Red:
and the interactive map to get all the charts on the fly …
that’s what I doAs Red said, there’s an android app called “BMS Kneeboard and Mission Planer” I find pretty helpful. Some features it brings are already present, in a better way, with WDP I believe, but this app has all the updated charts for Korea, together with the interactive map (the one you see on the 2D screen). Pretty helpful for instrumental flights.
There’s another app called “BMS Electronic Flightbag”, it seems to feature most, if not all, the checklists. The only problem is that it’s outdated, so you might not wanna rely on the charts too much and a couple of steps might differ a bit from 4.33 Checklists - Main Volume. -
the problem with all these apps is that they can be quickly outdated
The interactive map always had the latest version (public) and is my main repository for updating. So that one is always correct
Just use the URL from your ipad and you’re done. there is no application per se, but IMHO it’s not needed -

I’ll have to try this out in my Android, thank you!
Ps. But this doesn’t give me TACAN/ILS Departure/Approach charts, right? -
Great write-up, thanks for sharing!
With regard to your “must have” list, may I kindly point out that there are alternatives to TrackIR which cost only a quarter of what TIR sets you short while at the same time being of higher build quality than TIR itself (in my most humble opinion TIR is way overpriced).
Check out the DelanClip for example, use FaceTrackNoIR or OpenTrack with a cheap ps eye cam or a spare webcam if you have one lying around.
All the best, Uwe

Depends on the airfield some are diagrams of the runway others have links to all the charts

Click on any airport, a contextual menu will pop and the charts are linked. Click the chart and it will open in a new window.
Airstrips & DPRK airport (except major ones) only have the airport diagram
the rest have all that’s needed -
Oh to have a moving map display in the jet…
-
…it would be nice to feed a theater map in a common car gps device…
-
it’s possible in BMS
not easy and a bit heavy on implementation, but possible

-
center of the pink rings, F-16 icon in white whith a blue outline
it’s small but you can see it just in the middle of the altitude box - on the line between FL200 & GNDIt’s CPD on a IPAD with a app making the IPAD an external screen to a computer
Way too heavy to implement, a specific app would be much better and much easier -

I’ve had Track IR 5 for a long time, but agree it is overpriced and there are other, much cheaper alternatives.

Keep it going!
I played this game years ago with a CH Fighterstick and CH Pro Throttle years ago. Brought them back out and found the throttle no longer is detected by windows (opened it up and checked all connections and wires, no luck). Were you playing without a throttle also? How well/terrible does that work?

Yes, I just bought my throttle and it works fine. Did you try the throttle on another computer?

1/4? A $20 logitech webcam and a $6 LED hiking headlamp from Wally World with FreeTrack is 100% as effective as TrackIR. And as you mention, better “quality”, or at least it can take a bit of a beating better. But even if you destroy it 10x and replace it all you’re still well under the cost of a TIR. And in the end, a much less stiff neck.
The trade off is configuration though. It takes a little bit off setup to get the “piece meal” stuff working correctly, whereas with TIR, you plug it in and install and go.
I have a TIR, which I put back in the box after a few weeks of use and tossed in the closet (So it’s probably broken now) and went back to my trusty headlamp setup.
I use to have TIR. However, I have since discovered EDTracker. IMHO it is the best by far. It does not use IR, which I have had problems with. IR is worthless if there is light coming through a nearby window. I found TIR to be extremely worthless while in an airport hangar. The external lighting made the Trackir go crazy and I could not find a happy spot. EDtracker can be used with extreme lighting or pitch black, and it only costs about 50 USD. Here is a link for you. http://www.edtracker.co.uk/shop
If you do not mind the wire, then I recommend the wired version. If you have a helmet, then the wireless version works real nice for that, but does require charging. You can build your own for very little cost or you can buy the pro. I recommend the pro. It does not cost much more and saves you a lot of time.
Btw, it may sound like it, but no I do not work for EDTracker or receive any money from them, although maybe I should…lol. If you ask anyone that has used the EDTracker they will all highly recommend it.Update… Recommend Opentrack 2.2. to be used with the EDTracker. It is the most stable. Also if you decide to use the EDTracker for BMS, I would recommend following the settings on this video from Kukki.

Yea, unfortunately still nothing. I emailed customer support but doubt they’ll be able to do anything since it’s 6 years old and I opened it up. Oh well, keyboard it is!

Whats TAC view ?
Also you guys with the gear, i’ve been trucking through this game with mouse and keyboard. Believe me it hurts and know what im missing, but I have managed to learn a lot with CTRL+ALT arrow for the stick,SHIFT+ALT throttle sloppy landings and such but still manage to ILS bad weather and put the plane on tarmac without a stick and throttle. I am postive when I finally do get a HOTAS I will feel a great deal of relief, but all the fighting the plane I did with keyboard and mouse my flying skills will probably be ×10.
Sorry for the rant ebjoyed you information.
