Late to the party - what a brilliant program. Many thanks!

Hello, Ahmed.
This is just a noob question, made because I’m in deep trouble.
After reinstalled Windows 10 Pro and installed (copied) the program folder, every time I launched it I had, in return, two error messages about two libraries missing, probably in that same folder: VCRUNTIME140.dll and MSVCP140.dll.
But even worse, after I added them manually in the folder, I got another error message, that (in)famous ‘0xc000007b’.Any suggestion about, please?
Thanks a lot in advance! With best regards,

Ahmed,
I tought I had already installed them, but I’m going to check this also, because I didn’t read that document in its entirety, I have to admit that.
Thanks a lot!With best regards,

Ahmed, question for you. I installed the Balkans add on. It appears it looks for the weather maps in the data/addonbalkans/campaign folder, rather than the campaign/save/weathermapupdates that the default Korean theater. While they work fine in the folder, when I go to load Weapon Delivery Planner and select the Balkan theater, it is looking for it in save/weathermapupdates and obviously not finding the fmap sequence there and giving me an error. It did load the campaign. What am I doing wrong?
I tried to make a directory of weathermapupdates, but BMS won’t even look there for a fmap file in the weather section of the game.

You will have to ask Falcas on the Weapon Delivery Planner thread for the specific issues.
But from the screenshot you posted and your post, I think that you may be saving the weather in the wrong place. The WeatherMapsUpdates folder is theater dependant, it must always be in the same folder than the one that contains the campaigns (save0.cam, etc) for the theater. BMS will always look for that folder structure to load them.
So, for default KTO: Data\Campaign\Save\WeatherMapsUpdates
For Balkans: Add-On Balkans\Campaign\WeatherMapsUpdatesMake also sure that you are including the s (WeatherMapsUpdates)
Hope it helps

I didn’t make myself clear lol. WDP is looking in the right place, the issue I have is that in BMS in the Balkans theater when going to load weather maps, if I place the sequence in the weathermapsupdates folder, it is not offered as a choice. If I place them in the /campaign folder (without the weathermapsupdates subdirectory, it finds them no problem (although a bit messy to have all of those fmap files in the campaign directory), but then WDP doesn’t find them. I will check when I get home tonight to make absolutely sure I added the “S” to to the directory.

You can create the WeatherMapsUpdates folder into the campaign directory of the Balkans theater even if such folder doesn’t exist. This applies to other additional theaters too.
Place all the fmap files except the initial one (the fmap file names have DHHMM format) into the WeatherMapsUpdates folder. The initial fmap file you may leave to the campaign directory. AFAIK the BMS weather auto-update system looks for the “new” weather map files in the WeatherMapsUpdates folder under campaign directory. The initial map (the one you need to select on the weather window in campaign) has to be in the campaign directory so that you can select and load it.

Ok thanks! Figured I was doing something wrong!

Small optional preset update today via built-in updater that includes EMF (WIP) theater preset as requested by theater dev.
No time to work on the promised updates (command-line options etc) lately so that will have to wait a little bit more still…

Hi all,
I pushed a data update today that was live for a brief period of time and probably nobody was affected, but just in case:
Unfortunately the data update (just updating theater presets to summer daylight saving time) made evident a minor bug in automatic timezone sync in the public version that is not present on my current development version, so I have rolled it back. I’ll put it back online once I update the public release .EXE.
In the meantime, you can manually adjust real time to BMS time by using the “start from present” option and matching times manually.

Thanks a lot for this update, Ahmed.
Good to know also its actual flaws, you are honest to tell us also that. With best regards,

In my search for past weather for use with the software I found this from NOAA:
https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/data-access/model-data/model-datasets/climate-forecast-system-version2-cfsv2#CFS%20Reanalysis%20(CFSR)
What I don’t know is what to choose from all the options… -

What I don’t know is what to choose from all the options…I took a quick look at that website, but given the relatively small size of those files, I don’t think they contain the required parameters, and especially at a sufficient resolution assuming that they cover the whole globe.
Even if you found a different source than NOAA GFS (already downloadable from within the program) containing all the required parameters at a good resolution, you would have to “cut” the data for the theater’s geographical area as F4Wx doesn’t do that (just “fits” the data into the theater, the data is “cut” already from NOAA server’s side)

is it best to let it at 60min between files or less time between them would be ok?

Ahmed, long time fan of the program, I’m encountering a strange problem with any fmap I generate.
The inclement stratus layers are completely invisible, but while flying in them all objects/airbases on the ground disappear.
Poor and fair possibly works Ok, but inclement is definitely not working.I discovered the problem while using WX in Nordic Polar Vortex, but can reproduce the problem in KTO.
F4Wx version: 1.0 Beta (Build 40)
Bms 4.33 u5How to reproduce in stock KTO:
(here is a small zip with TE and weather files) https://drive.google.com/open?id=1JjFDdAIewt7wSGk-B7nbKoTENCKzB6zo
I’ve created a series of fmaps in F4Wx,
settings:
- I load the fmap for day1 1500
- The weather over my airbase in SW Korea is “inclement.”
- I lower the stratus cloud base to 1000’ MSL and set the vis at ~1nm
- There should be a 900’ AGL ceiling at this airbase.
- I click “SAVE WTH”
Here is what a take off looks like
as I pass through where the ceiling should be at 1000’ MSL, all the objects disappear
continuing to climb in what should be solid clouds, can clearly see the ground
Now, as the control, let’s load the default “-BMS- Inclement” fmap
same cloud/vis settings
right away you’ll see a big difference, everything is much hazier, as it should be
at 1000’ MSL we punch into the clouds
continuing to climb, we are solid IMC
You can repeat the tests with default cloud settings, the same thing happens. Fly to where the ceiling should be and you will see the bug.
-
Btw, here is an explanation of BMS cloud settings
-
I re-downloaded a fresh copy of F4Wx
Same problemTEST #2: DEFAULT CLOUD SETTINGS
download TE zip https://drive.google.com/open?id=1cIfeZmrRBWuQyfDnTaq5_b3xJEg1KiFp
I downloaded a new set of fmaps, this time Japan is under inclement
default cloud settings
the default inclement cloud base is 6000’ MSL
climbing, 6090’ indicated, just below the invisible cloud deck
just passed through the invisible cloud deck, all objects disappear
passing 10,000 inside an invisible cloud
Now load the default “-bms- Inclement” fmap
same testclimbing
just broke into the 6000’ MSL ceiling
10,000’ still hard IMC
anybody, test it yourself…

thank you for the bug report.
up to him to fix it but i doubt ahmed will fix it soon since it would be useless.

ahh. good to know.
