-Ice's Falcon BMS Helios Profile Updated… Again!
-
I only had the L39 exported with 1.5 and really didn’t have to do anything other than copy and paste the files for the profile and images to Helios if I remember right. I didn’t get the A10C until 2.5 and that’s when I tried getting it set up. The problem is there isn’t a single thread on the DCS boards that has an up to date explanation so it’s a long nightmare of searching threads trying to figure what is working in 2.5. But if you know how to do it I’m all ears lol. I know the init.lua’s for all the gauges need to be modified as well as the export.lua and monitor setup which I’m well familiar with but there are different versions of the init.lua and where it should be placed.
If I remember from setting up, the gauge *init.lua’s, the monitor.config, and the export.lua is all that is needed. When I get a chance, I will post a link to my init.lua’s, which I have in a OVGME format, and my monitor file for you to tweak. Of course, all my stuff is really the work of others, just tweaked.

Yeah, 4.16s did the same thing…something wrong with my setup, or the way I have adjusted the key. Oh, well, still works 90%.
I found this. It may answer your question…

Thanks, I tried most of those things, no joy. Did any of the stuff I sent help with your setup?

I stopped messing with it. I picked up a 1080ti and won’t be going back to 2d with DCS. VR only from here on out.

Hi Ice,
I’m a complete newbie to BMS so I have a few questions after reading your thread and looking for some general guidance. I will be getting a 55" HDMI TV for outside view and am not sure the best size for touchscreen/ I Like you single screen setup and assume that they buttons on the lower right part of the panel allow you to pull up the various panels, eg. left side console, right side console, maps, etc. I think I saw your setup on Youtube. So that would be my intention. I know nothing about helios or yame and haven’t got a clue as to setting up this kind of system. I will have a dedicated computer that will run BMS and Elite Dangerous and am ok in that area for gaming specs. Is it better to run win 7 64 bit or win 10 64 bit? Anuy advice would be greatly appreciated.

All of Ice’s Helios profiles are for 1920 x 1080. The smallest touch panel I would get if your going to run 16S or 21S is a 23". I have a 23" and a 27" but I’ve been running the 23" with my 50" 4KUHD TV. I’d rather use the 27" and did for a long time but because of positioning TrackIR the 23" works better. You want to have the touch panel directly in front of you and then the TV. If you put the TrackIR on the touch panel, you can’t lean forward to see the main screen better without the TIR loosing track. You’ll have to put it on the top of the TV for best performance. With a 27", it’s more difficult to sit close to both without your knees hitting the monitor. As to 7 or 10? I’m running 10 because unfortunately Windows will shortly not support 7. This was a serious issue a few months back as the windows updates kept breaking YAME. Recently, this has been fixed.

Need a little help with getting Ice’s yame profile to work. I’ve had a couple issues but those were related top not having the most recent releases for the files. The issue is now with the profile for Yame64. My system isn’t that new but it runs most games at pretty decent frame rates. BMS runs at around 80 to 100 FPS normally and when I load the Helios profile there’s no issue. When I load Ice’s Yame64 profile running I literally drop to 5 fps. I loaded up a couple of the default profiles that came with Yame64 and was back at 90 fps. I didn’t spend the time to align the gauges or MFD’s as it was just a test but as soon as I click on Start Yame Client my mouse gets very laggy. I’m hoping I just have something setup wrong?

Do you have the “masked” and/or “antialias” flag in YAME set to true?
-
I have Masked, Antialiasing, and Visible checked as well as Full Screen.

Ok, uncheck all those checks, it seems that in some windows update (or driver, I can’t tell for sure) there is a big performance issue when using masked flag.

Thanks! That did it and now I can get back into BMS!!!

Hi guys!!
It’s been a little since the last time I started Helios and it was working perfectly… but I was started it today and for an strange reason every time I touch the screen it does a double click, It only happens in Helios and with the touch screen function, If I do it with the mouse it works ok. Anyone has an idea of what’s going on?
Thanks. Best regards.

Replying to myself if anyone has the same error, I had to disable the “press and hold for right clicking” in the touch screen. Now it works perfectly.
Regards.

I’ve been looking for an answer to a small issue through this thread but haven’t had any luck so I thought I’d ask.
I use the single screen version and when I press the DED I get a data card for another flight (it never seems to change)? I use WDP and save the card there and I get a message that it saved the 8019.dds but it doesn’t change what comes up on the helios profile? What am I missing?
-
Go to your C:\Weapon Delivery Planner\Datacards\……
Rename datacards to 01 and 02 and copy them to your …\Helios\Images\Helios Project\Data Card folder or wherever your folder is.Same for the map rename to 03 and copy

Hello Ice -
Thanks for the great profiles and helpful articles - I appreciate the time you take to honestly try to answer the specific line of questioning that others have asked of you.Since it has been some time since any new posts have occurred, and I am uncertain if the banned status has anything to do with responding on this forum anymore, I will not post my question until/if you are respond to this post…
Thanks again for all your posts and info…

I think “banned” means “banned” but I am sure one of the mods will confirm

“I don’t create my own Helios profiles but I’m a master at making Ice’s work! ;)”
If so Maestro, then think of hidden zones of touch being clickable with the mouse, I will have a touch monitor in only two months (even my grandfather will not be able to do anything:mad:), and this is a long time.
