Mapview 1.4.1 is now available!
Download:HERE
Mapview is a third party addon for Tacview developed by Jacques ‘Detox’ Deyrieux.
With just a few clicks you can now automatically download and install terrain tiles for your favorite theater of operation. Mapview will download terrain tiles from one of predefined providers. They are then processed and stored in Tacview custom folder C:\ProgramData\Tacview\Data\Terrain\Textures.
This new release improves a lot ergonomics, performance and error handling.
Release notes:
- added optimization of the algorithm of the manufacture of the tiles when they are made, the consumption of the memory is just that it is necessary. Now there is no more limits to generate in one pass all tiles of the world
- added new ini file who simplify his modifications. The conversion from your old maps.ini to the new mapvie.ini is automatic when the new .ini file doesn’t exists. Sources blocs are been deletes and replaced by internal management. Only maps and global setup is saved into the new .ini file.
- added an editor of maps is available to change top/left and bottom/right of the map with a simplified syntax
- added Clean tiles feature delete all files about a tile name before to save the new tile generated.

NOTICE: Make sure you have downloaded and installed the latest package from 2018-09-27 which fixes a crash related to P3D weapons.
- Release Date: Thu, 27 Sep 2018
- Operating System: Windows 32-bit / 64-bit
- File Size: 239.8 MB
Aside numerous fixes, this update mainly brings a brand-new C++ SDK. For support reasons, this SDK is currently available only to Tacview Enterprise users. It may eventually become available to the public, but this will be for a later update.
Now, this also means that the Lua SDK available to everyone has been improved! It offers an extended API so you can draw more things in the 3D view and better analyze the telemetry of active objects.
Don’t forget that you can press CTRL+R to instantaneously reload your Lua scripts. Very handy for quick development!
The documentation available in *C:\Program Files (x86)\Tacview\AddOns* has been updated. And more samples have been added for Lua as well as for C++ addons. Since the API is identical for both languages, you can grab ideas from any sample and almost just copy/paste the code in your own creation.
If you need more API function, just let me know, I will be glad to add them to the next releases.
To close the loop, Tacview 1.7.4 will finally bring a C# SDK which will offer identical features as the Lua and C++ APIs.

Dedicated to BMS pilots: Thanks to Olivier Beaumont aka “Red Dog”, Tacview now offers by default the maps of the most popular BMS battlefields. No more fussing with download and configuration files, enjoy right away more comfortable debriefings over Korea, ITO, Aegean and the Balkans. To reduce the installer size, I have not included all the possible maps, so just let me know if you think that I have missed an important theater map which should be in Tacview by default.
Behold the new trimming tool! With it, you can now select and keep only the most relevant part of your last flight. Share smaller files with your friends and enjoy debriefings which go right to the point!
This version also brings the long-awaited C# SDK for Tacview Enterprise customers. With an API which is virtually identical to the Lua and C++ ones, it is now possible to quickly develop powerful addons for Tacview.
As usual, this version brings a few fixes as well as some optimizations in the telemetry manager. Check the release notes for more details.

About the padlock option:

I’d like to add in Polar Vortex to the request. I see Nordic in the list, but when I run the ACMI file, Korea shows up.

I didn’t even notice that there! Thank you!

Addendum: I have just noticed that EMF is already declared in Data-Falcon4Theaters.xml, so simply uncomment it to activate it. I will reactivate it officially as soon as the new version for current BMS will be available.
To add a new theater to Tacview, simply add a new declaration in C:\Program Files (x86)\Tacview\Data\Xml\Data-Falcon4Theaters.xml like explained in the documentation:
https://www.tacview.net/documentation/falcon/#q22The same way, you can declare a texture map in C:\Program Files (x86)\Tacview\Data\Terrain\Textures\ CustomTextureList.xml
Simply use the exact same coordinates as in Falcon4Theaters.xml and put your PNG or JPG file in the same folder as CustomTextureList.xml
If you do not want to trash you Tacview install you put the edited files in C:\ProgramData\Tacview\Data\…

Tacview 1.7.5 is available
Download: HERE
- Release Date: Wed, 19 Dec 201
- Operating System: Windows 32-bit / 64-bit
- File Size: 268.0 MB
This intermediate release brings a lot of improvements and fixes. The object database has been extended to better support your favorite flight simulator.
The telemetry exporter has been rewritten from scratch. Available in Tacview Advanced and Enterprise, it replaces the tool which was previously accessible from the charts. With the new exporter you can now save any telemetry variable (recorded or calculated) from any object in a single csv file. No need any more to export one by one each object variable in a separate file. It is now easier than ever to compile and analyze the telemetry data of your choice in your favorite spreadsheet.
I am now focusing more and more my efforts on Tacview 2: The goal is to offer you a brand-new platform with improved performances, fidelity, ergonomics, portability, all in a fully customizable package!
Best wishes to you all!
Vyrtuoz

This intermediate release brings a lot of fixes and improvements requested by both the community and professional users.
While I am focusing more and more on the development of Tacview 2.0, it is going to take some time before we can put our hands on a first beta version. Meanwhile the Tacview 1.8.0 is already on its way and will continue developing further the capabilities required for professional military debriefings, like a brand-new real-time shot log which will eventually replace the aged flight log.
Tacview 2.0 conception phase is still open, so feel free to share your ideas and suggestions here. Even if everything single whish may not be granted, be assured that I am always taking all your feedback in consideration.
Fly safe!

@ Vyrtuoz - or others…
I need advise (using the pro version 1.8.0 beta 14 atm)…
I need to make some telemetry benchmarks in DCS for the BFM / ACM BAR server (i am the Host) - different ones actually, but the ultimate goal is to find “fair” DACT fuel laods for different aircrafts (re-evaluation with changing FMs and fuel-rates….).
One of these tests are 2-circle sustain performance measurements at different conditions/regimes… done with “unlimited fuel”, dump fuel (to adjust), no black-out (for testing only), and turning by keyboard trimming (for better accuracy/stability).
The idea is to use TV in real-time mode, which i have accomplished. Meaning game is running and TV is showing me real-time telemetry on the same computer.
HOWEVER i would like to have TV on the Laptop running and the game on the PC (so i don´t have to alt-tab or else).
And here i have connection problems… the ports used are opened. Not sure how to do it properly and what IPs to use… etcPS: I can not even “remote-debrief” an older tape (acmi) with myself (laptop-to-pc). With others it works excellent (over the i-net)
Anyone?
Side-Note: The named server does NOT record tapes, but allows to for the clients to do so (a BFM trainings server without the ability to debrief is silly).
LIVE telemetry on server is not possible and with time-delay in order to avoid “data-read-out cheating”.
