Gear Collapse on Ramp

lol…

Hi,
Could it be the brakes, still building up heat after full stop? Not sure if intention or bug in this particular case, but after having read the brake article, to me it sounds like a blown tire caused by overheated brakes.
Could very well be a bug in this case, but that part of the code is my suspect here

Funny stuff, LMAO. That’s NO blown tire, the whole damn gear is FUBAR.:-o

I doubt it was overheat on the brakes as the touch and go’s we did did not require any breaking and then it was a simple task of parking the jet while hotpit refuelling. Chocks were on after that, along with the parking brake. Wish I had taken a screenshot but it definately looked like the one posted by Skwabie!
-
I was parked next to Smokey, and from my view his landing gear had disappeared, unlike Skwabie`s pic.
-
haha you need to yell at your crew chief for letting you fly on a fudged tire. that’s about all I can think of.

It happened something similar to me some weeks ago.
I was leading a formation landing of two ships, gear down ar 250kts. We were at the end of a 10 miles long final, everything looking good, 11 degrees AOA, FPM on the top of the bracket, 150-160kts and around 300 feets and very close to land when I heard this typical Falcon scratching sound (in the air!) and my wingman suddently says to me “have you retract the gear?”, “Nop”, “Well, you’ve got no gear”, “Well, I have the bracket in the HUD…” I checked the lights and I was missing my left gear, checked external view and it was consistent, no left gear (wingman saw no gear at all).
I thought about reporting but I have not been able to reproduce it ever again so I forgot about it.
Hope it helps.
Cheers

AHA, 3 guys, 3 left gear FUBAR. Coincidence??? I don’t think SO!!!

Hmm, related to the exploding jets upon entering 3D I guess… When I have the explosions, and it’s less severe, I have damages like this. The jet doesn’t damage enough to explode, but gears break, engines fail… basically anything that would normally only occur on a rough landing. As if the jet drops from 1 feet on the tarmac one time, and from 3 feet the other time… causing damage, that when enough, leads to explosions.
-
Yep Kneejo, same here. If I don’t explode then it is some sort of damage which always results in the aircraft sinking into the ground. Almost everytime it sinks 3 ft, occasionally 1.
I checked the airbase leveling at OSAN thinking possibly the taxi way area was lower/higher but it wasn’t, 97ft all around. So leveling at OSAN at least is not the problem.

you guys got to close to the stealth KC-10

does this happen when Ramp in Cold jet or always after a landing ?
are you sure you never entered into yellow braking energy area ? -

This is ALWAYS when entering the 3D and doing either Taxi or Runway. Not landing and I never do RAMP.

SP or MP only ?

SP or MP only ?
SP. Remember though, I have a crappy system. Only 1GB RAM. AMD SEMPRON 3200+ 1.80 GHZ, nVidia6150LE Integrated GPU.
I believe it has something to do with the GPU and the slow transition to 3D. I’m not expecting a fix on your guys end unless you do find something.
I have a GB of RAM on the way. Need to also see if I can get my other system running.
EDIT: BTW, forgot to mention. I plan on running some test by slowing the clock down and see if that may help.

Digging out an very old thread here i just found …
We had this on several instances during MP sessions. Not everytime and not always the same client. But from time to time some jet will buckle some minutes after reaching the parking position and wait for the other machines to come in, engine still running.
Someone else still have this problem?

The only “problem” here is that your brakes are over heating and your blowing tires. This is intended behavior and is described in the bms manual.
