Mirage 2000D loadout unrealistic
-
@Ric: TE possible loadout is on thing … the Squad Store in campaign is another one.
-
In the early RC of 4.34 we had 2 versions of the 2000D, the legacy one and the RMV with its DGA/CEV skin and all the weapons that was tested by CEV at this time: MICA IR, AASM, BAT-120LG, CC-420…
But is has been decided not to keep the RMV variant and it has been merged in the legacy one -

@Ric:
I’m not sure I get what you mean ?
There is no M2000D in KTO campaign, but if one decide to make a campaign with 2000D, he can chose to set squadron store with only ops wapons
And BTW 2000D RMV will be ops in less than 2 years from now -

And BTW 2000D RMV will be ops in less than 2 years from nowI’m interested in that. When I edit a weapon to 0 in the stores of a squadron, it gets replenished sooner or later. The only way I find to make it persistent is to edit the database, which means data for an aircraft rather than a squadron, either by editing the stores, or more simply by editing the hardpoints.
If there is a non MP critical and squadron specific way (altering the cam file, I presume) , I’m a taker. But after all the conversations I’ve had about them, I’m almost sure of the answer. -

In existing KTO campaigns, try to load a BLU-61 on an F-16 …

It seems like the integration of the AASM and the BAT-120 are CEV only and that the RMV is not concerned by this. If anyone has any documentation or article showing the contrary, I would be more than interested to read it!

AASM seems having been set out…
And BAT-120LG… I let you try it in BMS, you should understand why it has not been kept (that was my purpose in proposing weapons in test process, let us evaluate weapon efficiency in given use case and make our own opinion) -
Hello,
just to reply on this topic.
First of all, I am the only responsible of this update decision, here is my point of view :
-
I decided to move to Mirage 2000D RMV for several reasons. Main one is that we usually do not update 3DDB between releases. Considering that there were 4 years between 4.33 and 4.34, I prefer to be a bit forward than a bit late. People are then free to use RMV or R3 Mirage 2000D.
-
Concerning BAT-120GL, integration in French Force is now in progress. First live fire bomb drop was then conducted in summer 2018. This is a DGA program, which will lead soon to an official purchase. I consider this configuration valid for Mirage 2000D.
-
Concerning ASSM, It was initially a Mirage 2000N/D program, then, tests were conducted on this aircraft. But, for some reasons, it was then decided that only Rafale would deploy ASSM. Nevertheless, Mirage 2000D had briefly for test purpose ASSM capability. I also consider this configuration valid.
-
Considering ARMAT, 2nd fighter Wing of Dijon and especially 1st Squadron was briefly tasked with ARMAT/SEAD capability in mid 80s. But French Air Force didn’t made any large order of this weapon system, and EC1/2 lost this capability. I also take this payload valid.
-
There is always pros and cons. If you design a theater, you can decide to put what you want, according to the immersion you would like.
-
Last but not least : KTO is not historical. So, we shall be honest and humble when it deals with realism. Better to let people concentrate on what they want according to a technical feasible solution than pretending to tell BMS users what is good or not.
-
This is the same with GPU-5A for F-16 : it was briefly used, for advanced tests purpose, then rejected. I also made it for BMS, because what is done for one shall also be done for the other, not to make people think I am somehow partial.
Kind regards,
Radium

Always the same old argument….
The AASM is not in the RMV program for the moment because we already have it on the Rafale but … that not does mean that M2000 is not AASM capable.
Belgian Vipers can employ CBUs or launch Mavericks, but are they fielded in the inventories? It appears not.
Your argument of “Intregation ot the aasm and the BAT120 are CEV only” is moot.It is very strange the interest that you have sunddenly in the M2000 on Falcon BMS.

For the record, Ric flew for years in a Mirage 2000-only virtual flight. It’s nothing new.

Hi Tigrou!

I have to admit that Ric may have a point here. I won’t speak too much here, but the next week (if everything goes as planned) I should be able to ask the right persons about it and get a real answer to that question.
