[Released] EMF v1.0.4 (BMS 4.34 U2)
-
wow…you guys just skip 4.35 !!
It is a known fact the when we release a version that means that it has been 3 to 4 weeks that our dev version is in development
When a version is released (4.34) the dev version (4.35) becomes release branch ( to be released in 3 to 4 weeks) and the next branch becomes dev branch
Nothing fancy here

Don’t underestimate ppl there are many conclusions we can make that you may not know or you can imagine
we see everyday such screens it’s like candies on the table for everyone. Nothing fancy here

Hi!
if big SAMs such as PAC-2 are static, that would be no challenging to kill. easily make recon and preset its coordinate then kill it by HARM’s POS mode or other long range GPS weapons.
So i will have to edit the database of big SAMs to make them invisible. Try to locate them with proper tactics, then kill. That’s fun.;)
-
In real life, the big SAMs are semi-mobile and in fact, once they are deployed somewhere they tend to remain there. They can move, but it takes time to relocate. Additionally, the position of big SAMs is known, a priori, through intelligence. You can’t hide easily big SAMs. It is the smaller TELARs that is hard to locate, since they can move and relocate quickly.
If I set the PAC-2 or the SA-20 as mobile, they will behave as TELARs, and oftenly relocate to random objectives which have the SAM flag set. That is something I don’t want to. As for the challening issue, well just be patient.

I found most of SAMs such as Hawk, PAC-2 are static.

As Mystic pointed out, this is based on reality. In rl the Patriot will need ~1hour to start moving all its vehicles and point towards relocating to a new site. Remember, that it will not just move a couple miles searching for a new position, ALL available-suitable surface positions are searched and tested-approved from peace time, so all this “move” will take some 3-4 hours at the minimum, “IF” you have air-superiority on the area, no ground looses, support assets for the transfer and secure the path and end-area… I know for the S-300 times are even higher, so practically all such moves in the real world happen at the start of a crisis… Things are even worst for Hawks, since the main problem is finding a suitable high-alt area-mountain to be able for their seeker to be effective…
Same principle should be considered with some ships, frigates etc. Having a frigate on a port with systems cold and sailors on the bars, it takes some hours to turn back to a dangerous asset again…
Current implementation is 100% accurate in background logic.

HI !
I fully agree with the idea of reality. But static SAMs will show up in the map once the campaign begins. It’s the limitation of game. Because of it, we even don’t need to make any recon mission or contact before get the location of SAMs.
My idea is that: Campaign makers Set big SAM such as PAC-2 to air defense somewhere forever(unit flag: Assign, ordered,no plan) but do not make it always visible(not static) until players or AI flights make contact. Once make contact, players in the UI will find the visible SAM then recon and note the coordinate of visible SAM. Players will launch a new mission to kill the SAM based on the coordinate. This is our tactics to deal with those lethal but invisible SAM.I agree with the idea of Static SAM but hope moving SA20 and PAC-2 can also be added in the next update like other theater.
Thanks! EMF is a epic theater!
This is the campaign i am making now. very fun!
-
u can use air mobile to move static batallions. make sure while commiting that the batallion is airborne and it will be invisible on the map.
-
just a test for fun - i found a superb T-33 model as feature item in DB, so i use its parent number for G-4. it looks really good as a flyable - if all parts animated.

We could try to make it flyable too one day…
-
Outstanding… My cockpit is only a few weeks from completion and this is perfect timing so I can fly out of Néa Anghialos AB!

Hi !
My ALR -93 RWR was spiked by a symbol " V". Is this sky guard??
But according to Teasquare’ threat manual, sky guard is the symbol “43”.
-
Yes. Skyguard. Teasquare’s manual is based on KTO.
-
Hi
i found HAF’ s F-16 blk50 such as 347th SQ is not the true “Peace Xenia II” cockpit as it is in the Ikaros theater. It’s still the KTO style. Will it be fixed in the next update?
-
And why the exhaust angle appears?
Only noticed this with the F-16C 393 sq without CFT’s, so far not seen with other models.
Noted two other things:- In the F-16C 393 sq with CFT’s the backlighted needle of the roll trim does not move, only the unlit one, see image. Didn’t check with other models.
- A user-controlled battalion enroute to Benghazi suddenly appears in the middle of the sea southwest of Benghazi during the Desert Rat campaign, see other image.
Would be nice if the training weapons and ALW from Ikaros can be included in the next release.
Anyway, keep up the good work, love this theater! -
Souda airbase (LGSA) seems to be displaced to the west w/r to the satellite tile (taken using the recon view, but it also appears this way in 3d).
all the best,
Uwe

Souda LGSA is perfectly fine. Probably, you moved the airbase accidentally.

Anyway, keep up the good work, love this theater! The exhaust angle label is a nuance and has to do with the way Janhas model was created regarding the NVGs.
If you don’t want to appear (I forgot to remove it), go to Add-on emf/sim/acdata and find the entry f16bl52+.dat
Open with notepad and find the entry:NVGs - use VTOL commands
#–---------------------------------------------------
IsVtol 1Change 1 to 0, that is IsVtol 0, save and fixed.
As for the campaign, I’ve noticed that you use the Perseus Dawn’s campaign map for the Desert Rat campaign. That’s wrong. Anyway…
As for the battalion, I need more info. Probably this has to do with the 2D map. So, don’t bother. -

I did it with notepad. It was catastrophic! in 3d one gear was missing and always CTD. I had to replace the modified dat file with the original one from Jan Has.
I dont know if it was me or just the notepad…;) -
Standard notepad should be (and probably is :)) outlawed by the Geneva convention.
Use a proper editor like emacs or notepad++ (both are freely available), and you’ll enjoy a much happier editing experience.
All the best, Uwe

1. Coordinates are too far away from being realistic. (Longitude)
2. Is it possible to add a PXIV sqn in the Perseus Dawn campaign via MC without causing havoc?
Thanks for the amazing work!
