Georgia Theater
-
Manos, Starrats and I were working on a Georgia Theatre way back in the 4.33 days. After Starrats left Falcon 4.0 development, the project kind of fell silent due to all my other theatre work. Here is a download link of all our work:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/hga95pe77bbnlsi/Add-On_Georgia.rar/file
You can use anything you want/need from the download link. The partially made campaign had great ground movement and showed some potential to be winnable. If you can use the campaign, I can finish it for you. I am the original author.
If you have a campaign file already in work, I can build you a campaign like the one included in my download file. It was based on the Russian invasion of Georgia during the 2010 timeframe.
Thanks a lot downloading Now and will see what i can use! The Terrain is ready, objectives as well! Fixing currently some small cate mistakes here and there and checking roads and stuff!
Cheers!
EDIT : Hows Ned in general have you got any contact/news?

Manos, you could export the objective files from you cam files and import them to my cam files. if that is to much work, complete the links in your campaign file and I can adjust their movement penalties in order to match my save file. Also, on my save file, we removed all rivers and made them visible but without movement penalties. This made the ground units operate really well. Both your Georgia Theatre and mine share a common DNA, which means the cam files have far too many rivers running through them.
As for Ned, I have lost contact with him. He deleted his Youtube account and does not reply to emails. Very sad, he was an extremely talented developer. If you need additional help, pm me and I will work with you.

Hey, tried to open the cam files and i did with many errors… but ok i can try whatever i can to see what i can salvage. The only thing missing from mine right now is the links to say the truth so most of the job there is done. I have most of the known airports spending hours on internet to see witch im gonna keep (i couldnt leave 1 airport per city lol), Major Cities as well or reduced to only the main ones for all teams, everything else turned to towns an might change some to villages, noname objectives either renamed or deleted (some i used them by changing to depot or intersect or army base etc). Everything else also fixed Factories, refineries, millitary assets, radars u name it. In general right now the theater stands at 3200 -or+ objectives with all the bridges in. Everything else kept almost at a “safe” amount ( ~50 factories per team etc). But never the less yoour help is welcome and if i find any issues i cannot handle i can send the files to u. I can try to merge some things from both theaters as well. Specially now that im looking for some tiles i can look into those as well! For now mine uses stock database and stuff and i dont know if i will move to something else at least for now. Really really thank you!
EDIT: i Didnt see too much into it, have you done any work on the menus of the ui or is the default one?
Cheers!

Manos, most of our work was getting the theatre compatible for 4.33. The menus and such were in Ned’s hard drive. Sadly, I am sure they are lost. Once you get your cam file where you want it, I can rebuild my campaign on it as well as import/modify my trigger file for you winning objectives. I think my last campaign was Georgia versus Russia with NATO assistance. Ground forces mostly Warsaw Pact equipment versus Warsaw Pact equipment. As for your links, add them in Mission Commander, I will then adjust the movement penalties after the fact. Then your campaign will move as smooth as it does in Somalia.

Looks great guys TOP work, look forward to the wider realise.

Thanks for the valuable help Chuckles! The textures u send me are amazing… Doing some tests :
I think they look awesome in comparison with the ones i have

Great to see that they worked for you Manos. Looking forward to seeing more in theatre shots. I’d love to see those beautiful Caucus Mountains with the new tiles.

lol
When I saw first the two pics I thought Manos built a kind of inception scene where part of city folds over the other part of the city.Looking forward this theater!

congratulations Manos
your working is very nice
if only you could combine the Georgia theater with EMF map it would be better
at least a portion of turkiye was to be included in to the map (Malatya erhac ab, diyarbakir ab atc.)regards

Sorry but that isn’t Possible. Diyarbakir and Malatya is included of course in this theater as Trabzon as well but merging theaters not my job and specially with EMF thats already too big.
@Everybody : Remind me please the limit of features in an objectivecheers

Can someone help me here:
Why this is visible and what is that actually? -
If you mean those small dark spots, imho they are small bush with shadows. Downside of using photo-based textures. The field with regular dots on the outer side of the road is most likely an orchard. Also there’s mismatching texture to the right, with cut out fields and the road.

I mean the borders between the tiles (alpha channel ?) Not the bushes/trees

What resolution are those tiles? There is such thing that’s called “textures bleeding” which due to linear sampling may cause neighbor textures bleed edges into each other. There is no real cure to that AFAIK, but there are ways to minimize it. If you will look really close, such “border” exist even in default KTO tiles, but they are hardly visible. It could be that your tiles have a column of bad pixels at the edges?
-
The problem is that tiles have no seamless border and whoever made them originally perhaps thought that introducing that border could be a substitution for it.

Fixed it was Alpha channel opacity issue. Was too high!

It will be brilliant to fly in these mountains!

I think i can do them better but its the 1st attempt! I think the roads are to much
