LGB issues BMS 4.34: Unable to hit targets >TE/LGB
-
The diamond shaped TGP display better reflects what you’d see in the real world. It is absolutely fine, nothing wrong.
Here is an unedited video of the TR_BMS_11_LGB TE. I make two passes, both hit. What are you not doing?
Remember:
- Set Laser Code to 1511 (confirmed in Loadout screen before committing)
- Set Laser AG to Combat
- Set Auto to 12 seconds
- Arm Laser
THANKS MALC!
Funny thing was before seeing your reply> I went to the -34 and did exactly what it said which is the same thing you just pointed out!
I hit my target!
Thanks to everyone who chimed in.

Glad you’re making progress ramahan
Thanks guys
I purchased all of the BMS Manuals so I have no excuse!!
I watch videos then dive deeper with the manuals:D -
This is how the MFD is supposed to look in 4.34. If your laser is armed and cooled down, the code should be displayed on the MFD.

I found this video on the BMS forum. How did Malc get the MFDs to appear out of the cockpit on the left and right sides?
-
I think there is more than one way to do it, RTT client in the tools folder is one way.

Thanks 84hd79. I got the MFDs working, but it causes me to lose my sound. What else do I have to do?

If you open the RTT program before launching BMS do you still lose sound? Are you in the windowed mode?

I run in windowed mode. I open the RTT program before launching BMS. The RTT MFDs show up on my screen with the “X”. Then I start BMS and after I get to BMS 3D I have sound, but no RTT MFDs. After tabbing out of BMS 3D, I put RTT MFDs on my screen, but then there’s no sound.

Okay… looking at the readme document it looks like this program was originally designed to be used in full screen mode. You could test it in full screen and maybe the sound will work. I have mine setup on a second monitor and also windowed mode so I don’t have the issue with the sound since the BMS window is always active. I am not sure if there is a way to make the RTT “always on top” but that would be annoying when not sitting in the jet. It seems like for a single screen setup this program may not be ideal. MFD Extractor or another tool may be more helpful in this case.

Use MFDExtractor instead. Needs less resources and works as overlay in windowed mode even as overlay over the game window

Where do you get MFDExtractor?
Edit: I found that I could use the BMS 4.34 Cockpit Display Extraction described in the BMS Technical Manual on p35, Section 5.1. In order to get the sound I had to go into the configurator, Hardware/External Displays and tick box #2, External Windows Always on Top.

But still, where can you get the MFDExtractor? Can it add and take away MFDs on the fly? Does the sound always stay on?

Lot’s of other tools around BMS as well
1. Yes sound is on
2. In order to have the posibility of MFDs overlay to be turned on and of without leaving the BMS window you might use Helios 1.6 which includes MFD Extraction based on MFDExtractor and the hide/show could be bound to a DX key. If used that technique to create an Kneeboard Overlay over the BMS wndows but should work with the Helios MFDs as well -

I also set up BMS Display Extraction and RTT Remote.
RTT Remote is not good for me because it only runs without sound on my system.
MFDExtractor is good and worked with sound. I liked that MFDExtractor could be turned on/off, but MFDExtractor FPS is 35% lower than BMS Display Extraction FPS.I am going to stay with BMS Display Extraction.
Edit:
It appears that the config line, “set g_bExportRTTTextures 1” the MFDExtractor needs but BMS Display Extraction doesn’t need, is what causes the FPS hit.
I’ve been told I have enough FPS and not to worry.
I will go with MFDExtractor.
