Callbacks not in pit
-
I have to use the keyboard for communicating but thats about it.
Thanks again -
NVG, visor, kneepad, pilot toggle & Spotlight which is useful at ramp at night and there’s no cockpit hotspot for that one
There aren’t a lot of them beside the above AFAIR -
Thats what i thought.
I will check thru the -1 again.
Thx -

really suggest trying voice activated software, it’s a real game changer
-
I am working towards not needing the mouse, I don’t mind the keyboard that much since I suppose that a real pilot takes his hands off either throttle or stick to push buttons as well. Would anyone know what the most common “move” is in an actual pit, hands briefly off throttle or hands off stick to push buttons?
-
Hand off throttle.
-
As I have a touchpad pit that includes ICP MFD and operate 100% left hand off throttle. I’m left handed by nature that completly natural for me. Especially taking notes onto my kneepad. Beeing a former tank officer (Leopard 2 the commander has a right hand stick as well) I even know a lot of my fellow comrads teached themself to write lefthanded in order to be able to take notes while still operating the stick

Thanks, yeah I guess it makes most sense to use the left hand for cockpit buttons. I have an Android tab incoming so will be looking into MFD extraction soon. Working the MFDs is the only use where I still need the mouse. While airborne, I should add. Still need it for ramp start

Hi, Jayb,
Hands off actions include the afforementioned NVG/Visor, spotlight, gear, flaps/launchbar/Hook(Hornet) ,snowplow, cursor zero, SMS and weapons page functions, and comm menus(unless you have Voice Attack). Most of these can be easily set up with AL. I have spot light set up as a Voice Command.
Another trick, for keyboard use, is to make a command you want single key. For example, if you use HOTAS or hotspot for the Slap button, make the spotlight “S” instead of “shift +s”. -
Thanks, drtbkj, that is a very good idea, actually, to change often-used commands into single-key presses, in stead of hunting for Alt-Shift-P or similar in mid-air which requires both hands. Just an example, dunno if that actually does anything. Like I mention, I am at peace with the keyboard (use it all the time for ICP which is mapped very intuitively by default) but there are some combos (keypress using modifiers) that I regularly need like Visor (Alt-V) which could be remapped into something more simple.
I think that with my tablet mapped, I will almost be sorted. I plan to put MFDs on it, but I also came across a macro-key program called Deckboard, where you can set up a button to run a key combination. I need to spend some quality time on those things, too much to do
