4.35 BMS Interactive maps - with emphasis on "interactive":

The map is working fine here. Have you already tried to reload via Ctrl+F5 (or Ctrl+Shift+R)? If that doesn’t help, could you please share a screenshot of your Web Console (F12 -> Console)?

Thanks for your interest. CTRL-F5 doesn’t help.
Works fine on another computer with Firefox. Erased the cache, or I think so. No better luck.
PS: BTW the tools are working fine, it’s just the lower left corner windows that are just blank. The lower one size varies with data that would supposedly be displayed on the tile (elevation).
PS2: More: I can highlight the text, it appears then. It’s written white on white. I have no clue where this can be set and how I changed that.

a additional suggestion: increase the zoom like the BMS 2D UI

Hi Red Dog,
I just think the new interactive map is great !!!
Suggestion for future - given that the “zoom” sizes are now fixed and we have the ability to overlay shapes - could it be possible to have “bulls eye” option scaled accordingly and be able to move them and locate them as required? In short a scaled bulls eye “drag and drop” feature?

Text colour fixed for my problem post #27, this was in Firefox settings. I made changes for another computer. Account synchronization.

RedDog & Memo, thanks for this beautiful work. That drag-and-drop feature makes pre-flight workup a treat. It’s also the most beautiful visualization of weathermap data that I’ve seen in any BMS tool.
But, question: is the 4.34 version still available online somewhere? Since Mandumi was removed in 4.35 (and other runway and airbase changes), and charts updated, it makes it somewhat hard to do flight planning for 4.34. (I use 4.35 always for SP now, but some friends still fly 4.34 in MP, for stability reasons.)
I can always just use the charts in the docs folder, buy you guys have spoiled me…

I’m sure you know that but the 4.34 interactive map didn’t have the weather goodies, it was just for the charts. That old link above is still working

Thanks a lot, RD. Just what I was hoping for.
Like I said, I’m fully dedicated to wringing out 4.35, except for recalcitrant friends in MP who insist on waiting 3-4 weeks for U1. Just needed the map so I could get Mandumi charts, etc.

an enhancement: adding the bullseye

an enhancement: adding the bullseye
has this been done? or is it on a wish list for future releases?

Just ‘discovered’ the interactive map. What a ter-ri-fic good tool, wooooow !!!
Many thx to Red Dog, Memo and all other VD dev’s of this tool, great job, makes pilot’s life a lot easierA question is allowed, I assume … When I drag and drop a pkg.ini in the map, how to change eg. from the tanker plan to the strike mission. Might have missed it somewhere on the forum, where to find the answer ??
Cheers, Vordy

Unable to access these links anymore, they were working last week but not sure when they stopped working, anyone know what is going on?

Oh man!! I smell update!!

@Red:
The ViperDrivers are very proud to offer you our latest briefing tool:
We realized that using real weather data as Fmaps, having a good weather situation in mind before our flight was getting difficult because the UI weather tabs are blanked and the weather picture is not as clear as usual. Fmap may be displayed from other source but no such source allowed to display flight information and weather on the same map.
We therefore created that utility by updating the interactive maps so they can read Fmaps and TE.ini (or pilot.ini) filesThis provides a single go to app for briefing and debriefing many aspects of the flights such as navigation data, BMS charts, airport search, weather type, cloud base, visibility, pressure and temperature at any point of the map.
Main features of the new 4.35 interactive maps:
-
One single address for all implemented terrain
-
Two terrains currently fully implemented: KTO & EMF but more will certainly follow.
-
Terrain selectable as primary layer (KTO/EMF)
-
2 selectable map types for each terrain: IFR / VFR
-
As before, clicking an airport icon will display airport information and links to the new 4.35 approach charts.
-
Search feature added. You may search for airports using their name or their ICAO identifiers.
-
.ini support : Display your flightplan steerpoints, Lines and PPT on the map by dragging any TE.ini into the map browser
=> this will enable the INI layer overlays (Steerpoints, Lines & PPT) -
.fmap support: Display the weather fmap type by dragging a .fmap file into the map browser
=> this will enable the FMAP layer overlays (Weather type, pressure, isolines, cloud base, sky conditions, visibility fixed wings (wid barbs), animated winds) -
Slider support to display winds aloft with 3k step selection (defaults to surface winds)
-
Opacity Slider to change layer opacity according to the situation
-
Dynamic ruler (bottom left corner)
-
terrain legend (bottom left I button)
-
Weather data at cursor position
-
3 zoom level and a much better implementation for moving and zooming the map.

Huge thanks to Memo who did most of the hard work for the code to really bring the world interactive to a new meaning.
Thanks to all who made this possible (see the credits from the about button bottom right of the windowBest browser supported: Firefox and Chrome (Chromium based)
Hope you guys enjoy this tool as much as we enjoyed developing it and using it in our briefings.

links are broken : it doesn’t feel good…

Officially, those assets are not managed by BMS so there is nothing I can do.
It doesn’t smell anything… It was an asset maintained outside of BMS, we don’t have the source code, we can’t maintain it.Post un-sticked…
Cheers

Than maybe unstick the document release thread as well as the separate BMS manual downloads are taken offline as well

Hi there, we’re still getting a 404 - will this (great) website come online again?
Do you need any support (hosting, etc.)? -
Read previous posts. The answer will become clear…
