Question About Maps in HELIOS
-
I have a non touch screen monitor and I was wondering whether it is possible to use it to display a Theater MAP and with the aircraft position using HELIOS only (No YAME). Any Clues?
Cheers :yo:

Just use the latest ICE profile. Helios dosn’t have to run on a touchscreen. The profile includes a CPD with moving map and working with all Theaters in 4.35.
You could even strip out the CPD only from the Helios profile but that would need some knowledge how to use the Helios Profile Editor, Or build a moving map only with Helios
what it looks like in Helios

Thanks Oak, I Tried to apply some kind of “reverse engineer” to obtain just that from ICE’s, but I have to admit its a little more complicated than I though, so I was hoping someone here would point me to some kind of guide or would give me some directions. Anyway, lets see…

I have created a CPD only profile which I intend to release with the next 4.35-8 version of the profile shortly.:)

Sure, NOW you do a CPD only profile!
Your the BEST Linknet!
One question, I would like to make the CPD moving map larger (as it was with my 4.34 profile using a much earlier Ice’s as a base), is this possible? I can resize the base CPD gauge display but the actual Map box reverts to the base size when I hit the “CPD” button and I can’t seem to change that even though it’s unlocked. Ideally I just want the Map and its Bezel on my main screen (no button box, no CPD gauges by default) but I still need to grab the gauges for the bottom of my MFD screens…Hey Oak, is that from an old version of Ice’s profile? Looks like what I had working in 4.34.4, the new(er) versions have a tab for WayPoints and it’s controlled (if you want) by the button box…
Horrible pic, but you get the idea… -

I would wait for linknet’s profile, he is the master of Helios… this is taken from Ice’s profile and is my current 4.35.1 pit. I use RTT Client for the MFDs, found (at least for me in the past) the MFD screens in Helios were not smooth framerates… the gauges and Map are from helios.

To do that you need to enlarge and then rescale the 12 underlying map custom gauges. Rescaling is particularly difficult due to the way the custom gauges work using offsets. You’re on your own with that one I’m afraid.

That’s OK, all is working perfectly right now so not necessary.

Not getting the Baltics Map (CPD Map) to display. WDP has is but Helios (latest using modified 4.35-10 profile) is defaulting back to Korea…?

Hello
Most likely the name of the theater which is not up to date.
You must add or modify the name in the profile editor in the “Base Map” property -
@ertiyu nope he has to add it as userdefined map as Baltic is not existing as a base map. He already has it solved

I had already created folders for the Baltic map and put the Map.png in there, just had to point it to it with the "User Map No. 201 line then add the Baltic line underneath in Theater name, works great!

Arf, like what we must not answer between two occupations.
I confused with Lapland where you had to add the name of the theater for TvT -
Just for information, if you want to add a user defined map to the Full Ice Profile as opposed to the CPD Only Profile you have to add it to the “Map Viewer” in addition to the “Map Control”, the method is identical.

Good to know Linknet, my profile is all hacked from the main Ice 4.35-10 profile. I took the Map and control buttons and placed them on the right edge of my "Monitor #1 (7860x1440) , placed gauges on the bottoms of my two MFD monitors, and use RTT (through Helios now of course) to display the MFDs… works great!
