Block 52+ Advanced moving digital map
-
Raptor, can you have a Block 52+ cockpit draw for me? I will need it for something ;). If possible, two version:
- one for PX2/3
- one for PX4.
Thanks.
-
Here is an example of what it “could be” using current MFD HiRes setting, using a screen resolution of 1920*1080 with a 60Nm scale
pic real size is 1920*1080
…
Not so bad! … but need a high screen resolution anyway! Result is quite less good as soon as you reduce screen resolution.
-
Moving map is more than just a kneeboard. As long as HSD markings are not visible…
BTW the issues what I ask everytime. Why always the latest models should be the target…? Different F-16 variants during of their career never had moving map…
-
…that looks beautiful…
-
Another example with 30Nm scale rotated map …
Note that there is NO HSD overlay at all here! So, a much more clear picture than a map with overlay! (I’m assuming a MFD resolution of 220220 pixels, using a total screen resolution of 19201080!)
-
Basically would be like the A10 Charlie over at DCS with their map? Nice touch but I could think of some other priorities. I too can’t seem to get my MFD any more clear but nothing I can solve by moving my head a few inches forward with TIR

@ Dee-Jay
A rl, hires aviation map of Greece on the campaign map will look exactly as it should be, in place of the default Korea map as per your shots.
-
What about this then: i know need coding for seperate distance and resolutions … but it is very helpfull specialy at night …
-
Amazing! I hope we will see it in F/A-18C cockpit on the central display!

Something like this?
Already WIP but cannot promise an ETA yet due to my free time ATM. It was my intention to share it with the ViperPits community and xflight.de (original design creators; - i also need to grant their permissions for publishing these mods) for our cockpit building, so of course you or devs can use it as well when ready. All HAF versions will be displayed separately.
-
Perfect!! exactly what I trying to found.
I don’t well know the PX, does the PXIII already have the EGI? -
Yes, III & IV.
-
Nice.
Thanks for your nice work Raptor. It will be very usefull :). -
That’s great! I think that the moving map with the selectable HSB overlay would be really useful!
-
As long as map does not follow the scaling of HSD display…
- a new map is reuired with different colors, becaues if you overlay anything on current it is unreadable.
-
Hi,
I think its a must to have this in BMS its useful but also damn looks good especially at night, looks amazing!
Also with these improvements would be nice also……
More Pics to use as examples……
Nice, Please if it helps!
Cheers,
:drink:

SkyKnight,
Excellent find on the F16IN Sim vid and the MFD map layovers.

Yes … if readable inside BMS.

Hi Skynight!
@SkyKnight:
Hi,

I do “partially” agree …
But please, explain me why it will be usfull? … or more precisely, what is the advantage of this colored moving map? (especially at night)…

- Situational awareness (feet wet/dry, mountainous/flat terrain)
- On-the-spot NOE route plotting, terrain masking or pull-up prediction
- Overlay of relevant chart info (e.g. basic airfield info) or areas of interest (instead of using steerpoint lines)
About the overlay of relevant chart info:
- Can it be coded that it will only appear when HSD is on EXP (1 or 2) or range set to
