Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37
-
Did you reinstall to the same location? Remember the ice profile has an ini file that need you to update the location of bms. If that location changed then it can’t find any of the required files it needs to create those map functions

Did you save the DTC and then reset the profile, it takes a few seconds to generate the images so try the profile reset again.
Then check the PathNames.ini file for the [FALCON_BMS_PATH] which should have been automatically saved.
Then check the Helios\Images\FalconBMS Images 4.35\CPD\ folder and view the MapOverlay_15.png etc. files and check that they have been saved with the current time stamp and that they contain the waypoint lines etc.
Then check your callsign.ini file and check that there actually are saved steerpoints.

Yes, BMS was reinstalled to same location.

Yes, I’m saving the DTC and resetting the profile.

This appears to be ok as it matches my BMS install location.
Then check the Helios\Images\FalconBMS Images 4.35\CPD\ folder and view the MapOverlay_15.png etc. files and check that they have been saved with the current time stamp and that they contain the waypoint lines etc.
The folder location’s time stamp matches the profile RESET time. However, the map files all have the same created timestamp of March 2021 but a modified stamp that matches the reset. I do see the steerpoints and waypoint circles and numbers. When I open the PNG file, I can’t see lines connecting the numbers but they do appear in the attached file. So, I think this part is ok as well.
Then check your callsign.ini file and check that there actually are saved steerpoints.
I do see location numbers for the steerpoints but I wouldn’t know if the data is right. Looks ok I guess.
Screenshot while flying using same attached map:
If it matters, I’m on Windows 10 21H1 (OS build 19043.1052) and Nvidia driver 471.11

That MapOverlay_15.png file looks fine except that it is somewhat corrupted, presumably the original is clear. The connecting lines are very small on a 4096x4096 image so you have to zoom in a lot.
The map files should have their original dates since these never get modified.
The problem seems to be the profile not loading the new images. Try waiting for at least 30 seconds after saving the DTC before pressing reset.

Just curious if anyone - other than me - is having issues with the Course Lines not showing on the CMD Maps with 4.35 U2? I’m using profile version 8 and had it working fine with U1 but since I did a clean install of U2 I can’t get them to appear. I’ve tried all the process steps mentioned throughout this thread (with and without WDP) and they won’t show. Steerpoints and everything else seem to work fine.
No issues, Set up mission, Save Mission, Save DTC, Print Briefing, and hit Reset on Helios Panel. Just ran a bunch of Balkans mission online with a buddy, worked flawlessly…

Not sure where, but it was busted on my end. I uninstalled everything and built it back up and it worked. I’m just at basic 4.35 U2 with profile v8 so I’ll see how it goes. I got to a point where I was loading blank info in the MFD no matter what mission I flew so I just decided to punch out while I was early into the evening.
Thanks everyone for the fast feedback as it got me pointed in a better direction and understanding.

U2 is overwriting your Falcon bms.cfg and disables RTTExtraction.
You have to renewable it otherwise MFD in Helios won’t workGesendet von meinem SM-G930F mit Tapatalk

Glad to hear you beat it! One thing, if you find the MFD refresh rate a bit slow\annoying you can disable the Helios (MFD) extraction and use the Falcon BMS 4.35\Tools\RTTRemote\RTTClient64.exe for MFDs. Just configure RTTClient.ini to place the MFDs where you want and go… They run perfectly smooth using RTT.

Inside cpd no problem, the data is there (plan/stpt/comm).yes, I have pressed briefing button in falcon, saved dtc and reset helios profile…

Do you mean these:
-
Yes, exactly…in the helios file folder this files keep empty, when I press “print briefing” in BMS.

The profile initially displays the basic kneeboards which are the two panels shown in my previous post and which are generated from the briefing file after you select print. If you select the full kneeboards option from the system menu then the profile displays the BMS kneeboards which can be updated via WDP.

I can’t quite understand why the kneeboards are blank, in the original download they have default information so they must have been overwritten by DataAutoUpdate.exe. So is the CPD plan/comms info actually up to date with the current mission data or is this still showing the default info from the original download?
-
…the CPD plan/comm info is up to date. The data change with other missions. Is it possible to change the destination of the BIN folder, when I change the folder settings in HELIOS? Or is something hardcoded to c:/bin ?

The DataAutoUpdate.exe is hard coded to use the C:\Bin folder. Can you post a screenshot of the contents of the bin folder with the File Explorer view set to Details. And also copy of the PathNames.ini file. Did you change any folder names in the profile?
-
I also got issue on the CPD Plan when I transfered the files on BIN folder to a separate directory. Thanks linknet in confirming that it should be hard coded to drive. After placing the files to drive, CPD Plan now working fine!

; Edit the Falcon BMS command line parameters if required.
; All the other settings will automatically update.; Current Falcon BMS Path.
[FALCON_BMS_PATH]
Path = “D:\Falcon BMS\4.35”
Parameters = “-ef”; Current Falcon BMS Theater.
[CURRENT_THEATER]
Theater = “Korea KTO”; Current Map Folder.
[MAP_FOLDER]
MapFolder = “Korea”; Current Map Segment Size.
[MAP_SEGMENT_SIZE]
MapSegmentSize = “64”; Current Pilot Callsign.
[PILOT_CALLSIGN]
Callsign = “Cop49th”I didn’t change any path setting in helios. I have deleted the bin folder and cockpit files and reinstalled all. I deleted my logbook too for a try.
The briefing file in BIN folder updates every time, wenn I press the print button in BMS.In the folder Helios\Images\FalconBMS Images 4.35\Kneeboards the files Auto_Left.png and right keep empty.

So far it all seems OK.
So now does the date and time on the Auto_Left.png and Auto_Right.png files change after you press the print button?
Can you download and run this app and let me know if it reports your correct Documents folder.
