Good Day, All
In further Rhino testing I found the TGP wasn’t working in the Rhino. The fix is now in the Mafia Files as f18e Ver.7.8.21still waiting for a better f-18e AFM
thanks for your hard work -

Hi, Seb, Yes, in both the “1958” and “4.35 acdatas” in the Files.
All,
While on the subject of the Rhino, the acdatas and ckPtArt folders can be used in the F18-F and the Growler. Just be careful to get the correct cockpitwingmodel in 3dckpt.dat. The E is 1470,F is 1474, and G is 1479. And, of course, you have to rename the acdatas to “f18f” and “ea18g” , respectively.
The explanation of all this is in the Fighters Manual in the Mafia Files -

Good Day, All
Here’s a quick Rhino Update for today…
I’m noticing almost constant BIT TEST FAILS in the Rhino, that don’t want to reset/correct. So, for now just reset the FLCS and clear the TEST page, but do not run the actual BIT TEST.
We’re working on it, and I’ll keep you informed.
Also, I posted this elsewhere, but here is a reference I like for the Case 1 approach -

Seb, The acdatas have been changing 'fast and furious" lately, didn’t have time to update the Files. Until now. The current f18e.dat and f18e_afm in both “1958” and “4.35 acdatas” are right out of my install, and everything is working. Tested multiple times.
All,
It looks like a fix to the FLCS BIT FAIL mentioned in the previous entry, has been found. Remove “FlcsBitRpmVar 0.00” from the f18e.dat. I have not changed the Mafia Files, yet, as I have only tested it once in one theater. -

anyway thanks for the MAFIA work!
did you talk to Mav-Jp? he is a expert in AFM matter -

did you talk to Mav-Jp? he is a expert in AFM matterI’ve noticed a spin or 2 , myself. In fact, had a really “entertaining” one a couple of missions ago.
I have reached out to Mav-Jp, awaiting reply -
On e more quick update for today, regarding flat spins in the Rhino. Keep your speed up, it helps a lot

Good Day, All,
Today the topic is auto throttle. I just tested the Hornet and the “Mafiaized” Rhino at 400 knots and both 4000 and 20000 AGL, set ATC, and pulled a 90 deg. level bank.
I all cases I saw airspeed bleed off, I took it down to 270knots , and relaxed the g’s. ATC came back on … I don’t know if this is a bug or not, I’ll have to research this. At this point all I can give you is my opinion, and that is that ATC is doing what it’s supposed to do.
Here are my thoughts-Since the Hornet is good at instantaneous turning rather then sustained, speed will bleed off. ATC can only give you up to MIL, after all. However, if you haven’t turned off ATC, it will come back on when you’re back in parameters( unless you’ve changed the physical throttle setting). That’s what I’m seeing. Going out of parameters doesn’t turn ATC off, it just interrupts it. I’m thinking it’s like the paddle will override autopilot, but AP will come back when it’s released.
Anyway, testing will continue. To be honest, I’ve not generally used ATC all that much. So, with time we should be able to figure out the best procedures

One more update for today, regarding spins in the Rhino, that I noticed in ATC testing. Someone had asked me if it was a pitch or yaw departure. My first response was pitch, but now I’m not sure. It was when I came out of the 90 deg. bank and was roughly wings level at low speed when it departed. Input from anyone seeing this behavior is appreciated.
Anyway, I did notice 2 positives in testing. If my speed didn’t drop below 270 or so, it didn’t spin. The spins seem to occur when-low speed/ coming out of a bank, especially if climbing. So, definitely keep the energy up. The second positive was that when I tried to induce a spin, the jet gave both the aural low-speed warning and I actually got some visual “buffet”. So, the jet did “warn” me. If I relaxed the g as soon as I head the tone, it didn’t spin.
So, while we keep experimenting to see what we can do with this , I’ll pass along any tips I find. -
Good Day, All,
The update for this morning regards spins in the Rhino, and we have good news. We’re now testing a fix Brother Smartaxe came up with! He has it so it won’t spin, but we’re still working on on g-performance The completed file(s) should be in the Files soon. -

Hi, Mav, Noted. And as I told you, we’re not reinventing the wheel. We’re just going to get the Rhino as close to your Bug standard as we can.
And , as before, we would love to work with you on that. -

hello Mav, i always wanted to thank you for the amazing job you did with the Bug, thank you so much!!!
