Solved Sebs ICP
-
Hi all,
wanted to know from those of you that have separate icps (sebs or otherwise) for some pointers on setting up, especially when it comes to the multi switch.
alt launcher preffered.

@arabianjules
Hello!
Try this!
I think you have to assign BMS setup! top left corner is SYM, HUD brightness (y axis) DEPR RET, upper right (z axis). BRT brightness, lower left wheel, controls the FLIR brightness on the HUD, use this wheel to display the FLIR image on the HUD, its effect will only be noticed when the FLIR is operational(axis x). DRIFT c/o is a three position switch, with a momentary position for WARM RESET. The upper and middle positions manage the DRIFT of the flight path marker according to the winds. The center position labeled NORM takes the winds into account and allows the FPM to swerve to the side according to side winds, giving you a visual indication of the beta angle, side skidding against the wind. I hope that’s it!
Stay safe and stay tuned!
malpaso

@arabianjules I use Joy2Key for it on my Sebastian Murawicki built ICP, everything else is DX buttons.
-
@snake122 Hi thanks for that, does it work along side alt launcher?
John.
-
@arabianjules yes. I tried multiple setups of the POV .cfg lines and could never get it to work with the AL. In the end, Joy2Key was the simpler answer.
-

@Snake122

Hi

finally got replacement icp back from Seb, joy2key installed, and icp set up in alt launcher, apart from
dcs
4 way switch, not sure how to use joy2key any pointers greatly received?

many thanks
-

@arabianjules I just used joy2key to assign them to the arrow keys and for my .key that is the default for that switch.

Hi all,
wanted to know from those of you that have separate icps (sebs or otherwise) for some pointers on setting up, especially when it comes to the multi switch.
alt launcher preffered.

John

I use Alt Launcher for all ICP functions/axis without any issue. Bigger issue with Sebs ICP was having to re-solder several wires that were broken upon arrival, DCS switch fell apart after a couple weeks (he sent a new one, but to disassemble meant “ungluing” the 4 roller thumb-wheels that he melted into the PCB to get to it, not an elegant or practical solution). I’m going to bite the bullet at some point and get another one from someone, for now all the push buttons and toggles still work…

I also have warthog HOTAS set up, all other switches are working on ICP, set up in alt launcher, except DCS.
Many thanks

John.

@arabianjules When you go to windows control panel and view the properties of your ICP under Devices and Printers. Does each button press or switch press send a signal? If so your ICP can easily be programmed. However you are using the ALT launcher so a complete game reinstall would be required to do this using the keyfile generator in the game install directory.

I’ve put a pic below of my setup but my DCS switch no longer functions so I use a hat, but you simply assign the keypress (that’s all the DCS switch does, send a DX press for each position) like you do for anything else… that or you have a bad unit that maybe some of the wires broke off… like mine.

@malpaso

thanks for that, i have all that set up in Alt Launcher thanks for the ICP, only thing i have left is the 4 way switch that is DCS on ICP.

John.

I have downloaded
joystick gremlin
as some have mentioned on discord this what i might need?
However, even after reading the instructions, im no wiser how to set it up to take thearrow keys
press from the keyboard which is by default the ICP DCS inputs, and make them work so my stand alone ICP does them instead?

John.
-

@Draft

Hmm i am not seeing where in
Devices and Printers
thissignal
shows up?

John.
-

Do you have an “ICP” column in Alt Launcher? If so, are all inputs from the ICP not showing up when you try and assign in Alt Launcher (as in my previous pic above)? Again, my DCS switch is broken so I have assigned to a hat, but it was on the ICP’s DCS switch for a while and working fine. Every single button/switch on the ICP should have a corresponding DX# assignment, the wheels are an axis (IIRC). If there is no “ICP” column in Alt Launcher it means Windows is not seeing the device, it should also show up in Device Manager as in my pic, except I only have one functioning wheel (Z axis) and the only part of my DCS switch that works is
arrow down (which is DX29 lit up)…

-

Hello,

It is an issue I experienced when I first installed mi Seb ICP.

There is a quick solution. Add those lines to your “Falcon BMS.cfg” :

set g_nNumOfPOVs 2 // Override number of POV hats. Should be in 0 - 2 range, -1 is override disabled (default)
set g_nPOV1DeviceID 1 // Override POV1 hat device ID, -1 is override disabled (default)
set g_nPOV1ID 0 // Override POV1 hat ID. Should be in 0 - 1 range
set g_nPOV2DeviceID 2 // Override POV2 hat device ID, -1 is override disabled (default)
set g_nPOV2ID 0 // Override POV2 hat ID. Should be in 0 - 1 range

“Device ID” value depends on the sorting of your device (check your “Device sorting” file).

I hope this helps !

Cheers,
Hawk

@Icer

Hi went back and tried again, you can see from this short video, that in Alt Launcher when moving the DCS switch on the ICP it moves to the right inputs in the key mapping list;

<a href=“
” target=“_blank”>

However when you get in to 3D nothing happens <img src=“/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/android/1f622.png?v=1h7gjqihaqv” alt=“” class=“not-responsive emoji emoji-android emoji–cry” />

John.
-

@arabianjules the issue is you do not have them actually assigned in Alt Launcher! Start AL, click Keymapping, with the ICP column showing put the mouse cursor in the ICP column and double click on the “ICP: DCS UP - Push” row. The key assignment window for “ICP: DCS UP - Push” should appear with “Up:” being the default keybind. Simply hit your DCS Up switch and the DX# should appear. Save it, repeat for the other 3. Done. I see all the other buttons seem assigned from the video…

I also noticed you didn’t have the DRIFT C/O / NORM / WARN RESET fully set up. As WARN RESET is a momentary toggle I set it as DX24 and then for “NORM” position used the Release function (DX24 Release). DRIFT C/O is set as DX25…
