I did both methods, but after compiling I don’t see my model in Falcon, it’s still the old one.

Usally it should work, so I think the culprit is elsewhere…
I think you’re running still “Falcon BMS 4.35” and NOT “Copie de Falcon BMS 4.35”,
and that’s why you can’t see your 3D model insim.So how do you make sure you run your “Copie”?
Do you change your registry keys to point at the “Copie” ?
or
Do you rename your install folders back and forth?If you’re in doubt about registry keys, try your modifications on your “Falcon BMS 4.35” install,
… now that you know how to extract/ compress the DB.I’ve no other idea atm.

I redid the manipulation on my original installation “Falcon BMS 4.35”
The control tower has now disappeared in Falcon, but my model does not appear. -

Let’s try to adjust your Parent.dat with notepad,
which is part of the 3D modellers work anyway.First read here below “Some MaxScripts that I use:”

But use this script. Save the content below into a text file,

Once “Radius” and BoundingBox" are created and adjusted in 3dsmax (don’t scale them, use Object creation parameters to adjust size, and don’t add any modifier to them)
select all objects in scene, including your model, then press F11 and load
“ParentScript.ms”.From the upcoming Editor Window, press CTRL+E to run it and watch the output in the “MaxScript Listner” window.
Now put that “Dimensions” script result into your Parent.dat using notepad.
Take care to keep the format of the Parent.dat (dot/comma separation etc.)Try insim again.

Hi,
Sorry for not having reported in a while.
Christmas, New Year’s Day is a Covid19, it has shaken up my free time a bit.
For the moment I still have not succeeded in integrating my model in Falcon and I do not know why.
I don’t want to start another model until I have mastered the whole process.
As always in computer science, things that seem simple to some, seem incomprehensible to others. -

Sorry to read about your healthy issues, get well soon.Have you also placed your texture in \KoreaObj and hires folder?
For replacing an object, maybe try to replace that fueltruck there,
instead of the tower… and see if that works.

<p>@repman <br /><br />I’ve looked at your .LOD with LODEditor and noticed that your object is just approximately 0.08 feet high.<br />It’s waaay to tiny and (almost?) invisible insim.<br /><br />IMHO this indicates that you have a scaling problem in 3dsmax already.<br /><br />Make sure your “Display Unit Scale” is set to “US Standard”, “Decimal feet” in 3dsmax “Units Setup”.<br /><br />Then measure your object in 3dsmax and scale it correctly, before you export it again.<br /><br />;)<br />Cheers, <br />LS</p>

<p>@repman <br />I know how do you feel. I am the same like you. There is no workflow or tutorial to find every details in one place to learn and make own model and change the old one. You can find some, but some are outdated and doesn’t work or missing some important information or step to be a correct and good model to work such in the game as you expected.</p>

<p>@repman <br />IIRC you’ve created your initially 3D model in another software and then imported/loaded<br />that one into your 3DS MAX.<br /><br />The units setting in 3DS MAX are important and should be set before you <br />import a 3D model from another software.<br />(on open/load a file you can pick “System Units” or “File Units”)<br /><br />This is the reason why your object get to tiny in size and can’t be seen insim.<br /><br />There is no tutorial for this, because usally we (most of us) create our 3D models in <br />3DS MAX AND take care of the correct size of the object.<br /><br />As said, your .LOD is to tiny, to small in size.<br />So scale your model to correct RL size in 3DS MAX and export again.<br /><br /><br />Anyway, you’ve spent 10+ hours and give up now, where I think you’re close.<br />So I’ve wasted my time as well, while trying to help, … also on PM. :(<br /><br />Some Falconeers have spent way more hours to get a solution for a problem.<br />If those gents gave up that fast, then Falcon BMS would be dead since long.<br /><br /><br />@ccc<br />measure his LOD in LE, it was just approximately 0.08 feet high,<br />… way to small to be seen insim.<br />(but I’ve not looked at his latest files)<br /><br /><br />Cheers, <br />LS<br /></p>

<p>Sorry to derail the post but how do you obtain 3DMAX sw license and which version? For me it is waaaay too much money spent on early/monthly Aurtodesk access for my needs. Is it possible to buy some older version for substantionally reduced price? Or some student trial? To pirate is not my way.</p>
