taxi late interrupt takoff sequence
-

I honestly don’t know if I’d call this a bug.
BMS simply is not programmed for that scenario.

not really, in real life, if my flight was late, the ATC’d just put my flight at the end of queue, nothing happen, no one care.
the ATC won’t shutdown the whole airport for me. i think dev no need to reprogram for this, they can just not program for this, don’t look up the takoff schedule, just put me at the end of queue. i think this is the way 4.34 do it.

You can of course take off without your AI

no, u have to call ATC for taxi, if u don’t, ur AI won’t takoff at all.
but if u did (call for taxi), all planes stop.

-

no, u have to call ATC for taxi, if u don’t, ur AI won’t takoff at all.

You didn’t understand my reply. If you call “Request Taxi for Departure” the ATC puts your flight in a queue, if you are not the 1st flight in the queue you (as flight leader) can taxi to the hold lines, where you will be prompted by the Tower to change channels (Preset 3), you can then call “Ready for Departure” twice and the ATC will normally clear you to take off. This is what I mean by jumping the queue.

My point is that you can take off BUT your AI may not be able to if there are other flights on the taxi way between you and them.So the best scenario is to wait in the queue and follow procedure. If you wish to jump the queue and expect the AI to come with you make sure there are not other jets in their way.

-

@Kavelenko i can do as u say, i can takoff anyway, but i don’t want to.
if i call “Request Taxi for Departure”, the whole airport shutdown, i don’t want them shutdown, this is why i said it is a “bug”.
i don’t want to jump the queue, i want to be put in the end of queue, because i m late.
i don’t want all the planes stop for me. but they do, i hate it.

I like when the whole world is pushed around to let me in, I feel powa, https://tenor.com/view/red-sea-redsea-moses-gif-9839978

@Jetsun It’s a good virtue to queue patiently, isn’t it?

-

@Gear5 depends of the why, everything is virtue when done with altruistic motivation, selfish motivation ruins everything.

-

@Jetsun Friedrich August von Hayek disagree, he said everybody selfish lead to public good.
Although I think he’s exaggerating a bit.

-

@Gear5 Time for a Hayek vs Keynes rap battle to settle things: <a href=“
” target=“_blank”>
-

@LugubriousHaddock great, and there is round 2.

-

@Jetsun Friedrich August von Hayek disagree, he said everybody selfish lead to public good.
Although I think he’s exaggerating a bit.

Rather sounds like Hayek doesn’t have the basics in place, wouldn’t trust the work of this guy.

@SOBO-87 @SemlerPDX Not sure it’s worth insisting; let him work on a new code for ATC and everything that makes BMS not perfect, then we’ll talk about our own toilets while saying we don’t, to point out everything that should be improved in his work.

For some reason I have an image in my head of him getting a lot of “you didn’t win but here you go” trophies… <img src=“/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/android/1f644.png?v=gcfd8gb1ch8” alt=“” class=“not-responsive emoji emoji-android emoji–face_with_rolling_eyes” />

@Icer keep silent next time u found some bug.
otherwise u rob my trophies.

-

First…

BMS ATC is very complex and we simply cannot cater for users that refuse to follow ATC instructions.
4.36 will improve some bits on that but please understand this is a very complex machinery!

Second…

You’re assuming things that are simply not true… So please, others have been trying to tell you how to improve your experience, don’t try to be the smarter guy in the room… You simply don’t know much about falcon yet.

Cheers

-

@MaxWaldorf sigh, i said it again and again, i didnot refuse to follow ATC instructions.
i do follow ATC instructions, now i m stuck in middle of taxi way.
yes, i can overtake the AI in front of me as others suggest, i can takoff anyway.
but it just don’t feel realistic, doing sth never happen in real life – not feel real.

-

@Gear5 then wait for 4.36…

A lot of work done on that part…

-

@Gear5 I would guess that you got the calls “is there a problem?” or “expedite taxiing” since you were a bit late to start taxiing? Ground aborting your flight might have resolved the situation, allowing the other flights to move. You did taxi late, after all, so aborting and then re-requesting taxi again could perhaps have resolved the queing issues in the mind of the ATC.

But, can BMS do that? I’ve never looked that deeply into the comms menu. Maybe, as Max wrote, at some point something like an “abort takeoff” may get put in.
Gear, in the meantime, another “work around” would be to discard the mission, reload your DTC , double check loadout, and just go back in.

-

@drtbkj Yes, absolutely an option. In the ATC comms menus you are generally able to Abort, which will kick you out of the queing system whether it be approach, tower. Ground abort is more granular than a blanket Abort, in that you can choose individual flight members:

Learn something new every day. I’ll have to check out what that does.

You went to the toilet, and missed your window, shit happens and sims will always have an element or few that can pull you out of the realsim.

Lotta great suggestions in this thread for workarounds, and even a very sim-immersion friendly one by jayb up there. Hope these will tide you over until 4.36 <img src=“/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/android/1f37b.png?v=gcfd8gb1ch8” alt=“” class=“not-responsive emoji emoji-android emoji–beers” />
