I just installed 4.36 and set up my HOTAS, pedals, and ICP. Didn’t have time for a lot of flying tonight, so I fired up the Dogfight module and had some fun.
First, even though Dogfight module isn’t the most computationally taxing thing in the sim, I have to say I had great framerates, around 120-130 fps.
Beautiful, liquid-smooth motion! Simply lovely. Will probably be lower when I do real missions, but it was a joy to see. Then I checked on that little feature that I love so much… ICP List - 0 - 0 … would it be there?.. Yaaaaasss! BMS Crew Entertainment! My beloved Winamp player is still there! I’m so happy!
…I fired up my BFM playlist and now the 'ol Hermit Kingdom is minus one Fulcrum…
(… very nearly two, if I hadn’t run out of gun rounds… )
I know, I know, it’s silly to be so attached to the Winamp player, especially when we have just been given so much AWESOME new stuff , but I just have to give my thanks for keeping this little feature.
Many thanks to all the BMS team for the many hours of fun in the past and the many hours of new fun we’ve been given with this amazing update!

@Mylonite470 the crew entertainment module is a game-changer and people just don’t realize it. Guess they don’t fly ferry from Japan to Korea that much.
Now if only there were a way to do the same with foobar2000… -
Thanks. You guys ROCK!!!
-
I would like to agree with the previous speakers without exception. Simply great what you have delivered again!
-
Wonderful work, once again! Thanks BMS devs!
I see that you have even fixed the longstanding “save*.tri” file issue. This alone will save many users a great deal of headscratching, confusion, and ill-considered manual editing. I applaud you all for your commitment, skil, and concern for our community.
-
Many thanks to all who works on this amazing sim !
You do well, for our great pleasure.
Release after release we discover more and more, and more new stuff implemented, as real as is get

KTO North Korea says: Welcome to BMS 4.36, here eat this SA 15 that can now launch and kill you at 20000 ft.
Literally my first mission. Good beginnings! Love the new challenge! Thanks for all the hard work!
-
Indeed, thanks for this release. Especially for
set g_nIntuitiveSwitches 1
Whoever came up with this setting and its implementation, I salute you.
-
A big thanks for all your efforts!
-
Well done to all the team for getting this out. Just installed/configured, brief test looks great. Can’t wait to get some air time with 4.36
-
Great work all, many thanks.
-
Thanks to all the BMS team for making 4.36, nearly is a new plane considering all the changes it has. Now is our turn by studying and practicing to maximize what we have now.

OMFG. Now that I’ve had a little time to actually fly, I’m even more impressed.
The graphics have improved immensely (I can hardly wait to see what 4.37 brings). The FPS have improved by ~30% on my 10 year old machine, even thought the airbases and landscape are so much more detailed and the quantity of trees/grass is incredible. TFR flights are way more satsifying.
The switch between 2D and 3D is much faster than it used to be (at least 2x, for me).
The images during the 3D transition are sharper and more beautiful than ever.
The increased F-16 functionality is incredible. (I hope to have time one day to sort out all of the new lighting options…)
The distinction between LANTIRN/SNIPER capabilities (that SNIPER no longer permits TFR) is baffling, at first, but ultimately genius.
And I’ve only begun to explore. I can’t wait to see what improvements there are to the ATO PKG planning when I begin my first 4.36 campaign.
I haven’t yet figured out the changes to setting STPTs on targets, but I’ll sort it. (I’m amazed that there are no threads on this topic as yet. The change in the RECON mode dialogs is intense…) And I’m sure I’ll find the per-plane targeting immensely satisfying when I do.
You guys continue to far exceed all expectations WRT verisimilitude (YES, I used that word!). Can I please, please, please buy you a beer or three?!
-
Thank You all for the hard work. There are so many improvements I can’t list them all
-
Slothrop indeed used the right set of words. “OMFG!”
This is such a great release.Thank you very much
PS: we really need a way to buy you guys some beers
