Are yall installing JGSME first and setting it up per the instructions?
-
@cougar56th tried doing that. Cant figure out how to map the mod folder to bms sadly
-
Configuration
Install JSGME.
Copy paste the JSGME shortcut on your desktop and rename it to “Falcon BMS Mod Manager” (or whatever you wish).
Now right click on it and select “properties”
Change the Start In field to: “C:\Falcon BMS 4.34” (your root BMS game folder) and click “OK”
Create a folder in Falcon BMS game directory called “Mods”
Launch your newly created shortcut (you might have an admin run prompt request)
At first launch, JSGME will ask you to confirm Mods Folder, just type in “Mods” (like the folder you created)
Use Modded Files
Every mod will use needs to be contained in its own folder inside the “Mods” Directory you just created before. For example if you wish to install new textures for the F-16 here is how you would proceed:
Create a new folder in “Mods” called for example “F-16 HD textures”
Check the relative path to the original folder where you need to install the texture (i.e. [BMS Folder]\Data\Terrdata\korea\texture\texture_Polak)
Recreate the same folder path in the new “F-16 HD Textures” (i.e. [F-16 HD textures]\Data\Terrdata\korea\texture\texture_Polak)
Drop the modded files in that last folder.
Open Falcon BMS Mod Manager shortcut
Select the “F-16 HD Textures” Mod in list and click the right arrow to activate it…
To de-activate, just select the active mod and click the left arrow (double arrow will disable all mods)
There you go, you can now manage your mods easily with JSGME and recover your original Falcon BMS installation in no time! -
@cougar56th thanks. the steps with the relative path is where I get tripped up.
-
In the location installed you JGSME program, there should be a JGSME.ini file. Open that with Notepad and set the path in the ini file where the .exe is to run JGSME.

@JUmpstart5179 Hello, Sir,
I just got this working, and if you install the installer pack directly to the game folder, it’ll save itself under a separate folder called “Mods”. It showed up right under the Hotas folder. So, if the generic mod enabler is installed and the ‘start in’ file path is right, you can simply import the mod from the “Mods” folder by clicking ‘tasks’ and ‘import mod’ and open the Mods folder and select janhas. That should get you going hopefully! -
@anthonc9647 I think I got it working per all the advice above, but honestly I can’t tell the difference between vanilla and Jan Has . So maybe I didn’t! How can one tell?
-
@danster Check the pods and missiles. Easiest way to tell IMO. Other than that zoom as much as you can on one of the changed aircrafts. I think you will notice the difference in detail when up close.
E.g. the Aggressor and HAF jets are really noticeable. Easiest missile to notice is the AIM-9X for me. The nose (“camera”) is of a much higher resolution and the letters on the side are clear and easily readable instead of blocky and low res.
-
@danster There is a major difference. I reached out to Jan Has and he helped me out earlier this morning and I think I have a better idea on where I went wrong with the process.
-
@unkindled I don’t use the Aggressor or HAF so I will have to try it again. I certainly don’t want to detract from Jan Has’ work.
-
@danster you can see if they are loaded properly in the editor you can see a difference there. I ran into an issue where I got the models to show there properly but when I tried to fly it crashed. Jan Has fixed that for me this morning when it came to KTO and I went back through and did the steps for the Balkans campaign and it worked out for me.

Thx!!

@cougar56th ,
Thanks Cougar! This is a big time-saver!

Thanks much @cougar56th!
-
@danster For me, I can tell by the landing gear, Janhas’s models have excellent detail on the hydraulics and such, so when I’m in doubt, I just lower the gear and see if I can see the flexhoses and such.
-
@anthonc9647 My wingman looks at me oddly when I lower my gear nowhere near base.
-
@danster LOL well, did you get it to work at least?
-
@cougar56th Is this mod compatible with BMS 4.36 U1 and Balkans Theatre 4.36 U1 ?

@Icarus said in Jan Has F-16 LV6 Update packs:
Normally I install with 3ddbuilder, but I thought Id try this so I just ran the installer in the mod folder and then copy and paste contents to my install. I have backup renamed of course so I can switch back and forth. Couldnt be easier.
does 3ddbuilder install mods via an installer?
haven’t tried so I thought to ask
