Solved U1 and the Formation Lights?
-
Maybe I just need to reinstall 4.36 and U1 . . . . but I’m finding in Vipers other than the D, e.g. when I fly the CM-40, the light switches on the EXT LIGHTING panel do not rotate/cycle through all of the available settings like they do in the D.
-
Not all have this capacity but can you list the ones that don’t work?
-
I may have missed a couple (I went through all of the Vipers ) – here are the ones that don’t work:
F-16B-15
F-16C-32
F-16CM-40
F-16CM-42
F-16CM-50
F-16CM-52Also, please take a look at these: F-16AM BAC / F-16AM RDAF / F-16AM RJAF / F-16AM RNDAF / F-16AM RNLAF:
The rotaries other POSITION switches work as they should, but the MASTER 3-position (COVERT-NORM-OFF) switch animates as follows:
- From OFF: Left-click goes to COVERT; right-click goes back to OFF.
- From COVERT: left-click 3x goes to NORM, then a right-click goes to back to COVERT instead of OFF, and 3 right-clicks from there go to OFF.
- From NORM: left-click has no effect; right-click goes to COVERT.

I see
Implemented Covert lighting option on MLU F-16s (Uses 5 states, but the switch is only a 3 position switch: OFF/COVERT/COVERT/COVERT/NORM)
Is that what I’m seeing in the F-16AM variants? (I don’t fly those – I thought I would just mention what I found.)
Does it apply also to the B, C, and CM variants I listed above?
Edit: are you able to end the sounds of the switches/knobs moving after they’ve reached their respective travel limits?
-
@Crassus I checked the CM-40 and it works like it should.
The 5 F-16AMLUs have a 5 way switch with 3 options. This is code limited. The only way I could add the covert lights to the MLU was use the 5 way switch. Maybe in the future there can be a 3 way switch added like it is suppose to be.
The F-16A-15, A-15 IAF, B-15, B-15 IAF C-25, C-30, C-32, C-30 AGRS, C-32 AGRS, C-32 EAF, C-32 ROKAF, C-40 EAF, C-40 IAF, C-50 HAF, C-52+ EAF, DG-30 IAF, DG-40 IAF, I-52+ CFT, I-52+…
have a 2 way master switch…on or off
The F-16CM-40, CM-42, CM-50, CM-52, CM-52 Thunderbird, C-52+, C-52+CFT, C-52 ROKAF, DM-40, DM-52 and D-52+ RSAF have a 5 way rotatory switch with the covert modes.
Everything is working as it should be as in real life and code dependent.

Weird.
I’ll try a fresh install of 4.36 and then U1, maybe that’ll fix it. Will report back later.

So after many uninstalls and re-installs to track down the causes of my *Formation Lights issue, I find it was due to my importing the CkptArt folders I’d backed-up from my 4.35 install (I have custom cockpit views set up in each of those variants I’d been having Lights issues with. )
On the off-chance I’m not the only one with the EXT Lighting issue, i.e. a bonehead, open up the 3dbuttons.dat file for the Block you’re flying. Scroll down to // Exterior Lighting.

Jeeez
You know I spent some time looking at your issue in the codeHow many times will we repeat
Don’t mod your install especially with > 3 years old files

@Mav-jp And I very much appreciate your help!

@Crassus
Or at least retest in vanilla install before report a problemThat saves tons of precious devs time …
Pls think of it that way, if everyone would apply rule above, 4.37 would be already there or at least just 'round the corner

My apologies to all who used their time to work on this.
