Solved Nose wheel failure

@jayb is it possible that I am using F4wx without being aware of it? ie: is it on by default for 4.36.1?
Do you use Map Model at all?
-
I had the same thing in 4.36.1 at Gunsan when rolling into parking position. Weather was set to fair without fmap.
-
While I was hosting the last flight @Pegasus82 was in, the weather was stock issue. No FMap was used.
I did note that the only pilots out of six flying that had this problem were the two flight leads. There’s something to ponder eh?
-
This issue is know and discussed on our discord but hard to pin point excatly what happens.
Hopefully we will be able to find the issue and fix it for U2.
Pattern seems to be only in MP and possibly weather related (possibly F4Wx)…
-
@MaxWaldorf it would be fantastic if you could keep us updated as to any further discoveries/possible root causes of the issue. As mentioned by Griffin, we do not utilise F4wx of FMap, and we were using stock KTO Rolling Fire campaign (started in 4.36.0).
-
@Pegasus82 now we need to be sure that if you do the same with a campaign started in 4.36.1, you don’t face the same…
-
Sticking the subject while we investigate it…
-
-
It’s likely not the weather
However we are still investigating but we are unable to repro it with a “special” debug exe which is strictly the same as U1 with just some debug information
This indicates a potential deeper problem

For those who have the issue
Have you got analog pedal rudder or some of you have just keyboard to brake ?

Analog. Saitek.
Edit: also happening to someone seconds after touchdown, when front gear touches.
-
@Mav-jp analog rudder. Logitech Pro, and keep in mind that Example2 I sited, the nose wheel apparently failed while I was still approaching for landing.

its not related with ground at all
-
if all people having the issue are having the problem it will confirm one of my theory :
That would be that you guys keep a small amount of pressure on the brakes (even when you fly) and that triggers a gear failure due to heat accumulaiton
This is of course a bug as this should not happen on noze landing gear that has no brake … and that should not accumulate heat in flight…
but let’s see if my hypothesis is confirmed or not

Agreed.

can you guys check in the setup advanced that your analog brakes are at zero when no input ?

They are at zero when I do not touch them. But they were not at zero when I was rolling into parking position and gently touched them to stop the aircraft.
-
@Mav-jp I just checked in Alt Launcher (2.1.1). When I open Alt Launcher, both Toe Brake and Toe Brake Right axes are at 50%. If I apply a little bit of either toe brake, it switches to indicating the actual input I am generating, and reset to zero when I take my foot off the brake(s).
Also, I only put my feet on the rudder pedals during taxi as a general rule.
-
Yea but it seems all those who have a problem use analog rudders
For now ….
-
@Mav-jp
If you mean this by analog…

then you’re right. -

Base input = 0.
Keeping my feet off the rudder as much as I can for the time being.
