Solved FPS DROP IN THE NEW FALCON BMS 4.36
-
I have process lasso…
I fear a lot of things in games especially are placebo effect…
I haven’t really been able to prove that it works on Falcon.
For multitasking, no problem but for games like this, not sure it helps… -
@Slick8791-0 : I’ve facing the exact same problem also, even at the 4.35 U3 before. But as always, I look for every solution before and came up with this after around 4-5 months struggling to play and find out the right one checklist. Process lasso is the one tools for my machine to exactly disable hyperthread, the next is rivatuner to limit the fps along with MSI afterburner.
The first when I use process lasso, and put hyperthread off, I still notice some stutter if I drag the slider of Object detail right. The training mission BARCAP is the exact one I try for this over and over. When it comes near the airbase, and start getting tower instruction along with the F15 request, I experience a bit stutter there, but not much like before using Process lasso.
Then, after rivatuner came in, and limit the FPS, with all vertical / gsync off, this the game changer thing, I drag all the way to right, high resolution textures on, all shader except particle shader for smoke on, no stutter at all.
I’ve share this because I’ve been walkthrough about that stutter, but one might work at me, does not guarantee to work on other because the machine differences.
I hope you find your path mate to get rid the stutter.
best wishes and regards,

-GP-Thanks for the added input! I tested with Process Lasson and Afterburner but did not get any noticeable improvements, but I will certainly add the Rivatuner into the mix and see how it goes. To your point, maybe it is a trifecta kind of thing with BMS?!

Folks, can any of you report if you have better/same/worse FPS with this new version?
Thanks
-
@Seifer Much better for me. I used to see a significant drop in my FPS after landing at Gunsan on RWY 36. My FPS was good until I turn off the end of the runway (18), heading to the ramp. That’s when my FPS would drop from 60 to around 27-30 FPS. Now I do not see any significant drop in FPS. It right around 57 to 60. (Please note: I have purposely set my Max Frame Rate = 60 FPS in the NVIDIA Control Panel. It keeps my graphics card cooler and the sim works perfectly for me).
-
@Seifer , same for me. Frames rates look to be back to “normal”. I may go and compare to U0 to verify, but I am happy. Thanks!!!

@bladez1 was it the 3d trees?
-
Problem seemed related to transparencies, and the feature trees were a big part of it. This is something I am still investigating, but I’m glad that we spotted the root cause.
-
@Seifer Definitely much improved … passes my “cruise 2k ft over Kunsan” test that I think I did in another thread.
Actually seems better than 4.36.0 if I remember the baseline numbers, and my various graphics settings, correctly.
Kudos BMS team!

@Seifer brilliant! I’m only running a pretty basic system but had to use the last update in a super vanilla config to get even 20fps in the benchmark with a lot of tearing under track IR head movement.
U2 I’ve got all the good stuff turned back on and get 40fps on the ground in the benchmark with zero tearing. Thank you!!!
