Tracers mod2 full download

First:
Credits to the original creators of the particlesys.ini file: mrivers, I-Hawk and BonedustAs some of you might have seen i have worked on a mod for the tracer effect. My goal with this was to make a tracer effect that was more visual in NVGs. To accomplish this i used a almost transparent texture to create a “glow” around the tracer. The glow is visible in daylight too but thats the compromise i had to do.
Next i didnt like the streak effect being visible at all distances so i made them only appear close to the beholder for the speed effect.
Now i wanted the tracers to ricochet. I could only make this for aircraft/helicopter-guns and i could only make them with correct color for the Blue forces. So if you are on red forces you will have green tracers but red ricochets. As for now they only ricochet when they hit ground or water, not if they hit any object. Not every round will ricochet, its random, sometime less sometime more.
I could not make the ricochet effect for ground vehicles, weel i could but it didnt turn out good, it seems the bullet start on ground when fired and that cause a ricochet at the firing unit + the bullet doesnt hit the ground as i expected so it had to go for now.I have tried to find a balance between the visibility at longer range and at close, ive done that with the size of the tracer as i couldnt make them brighter.

Backup your original files (i didnt so i cant provide the original here )

Mine don’t so I believe those too will not cause any problems.

I don’t think the particlesys is shared in mp, I’ve done lots of mp with no problem, but just in case do a backup of the original psys.

well If a particle effect is moded and kills your FPS to 2fps for enough seconds than hell I believe your MP will be fubared.

Heads up!
I found a bug in the tracer mod, the bug prevent falcon from deleting the used particles.
the bug exist in this part, the ricochet:

“ricochet-range” was about 33 particles give or take.Easy fix:
Edit the particlesys, change the line lifespan=1.5 2 to lifespan=1.5 1or
Download the updated version in the first post and replace the particlesys.iniSorry for this :oops::oops:

Use rtrace1, rtrace2 etcedit: disregard. I see you’ve hashed the first one out.

Ah, it’s just residue when I tested the other texture for rtrace, I just put # in front of the first one as i didnt want to find and rename all rtrace in the file and forgot about it, it shouldn’t cause any problems except it makes the file larger?

Hi there and Happy 2013!!!
One question… Is the “Tracerrico” mod fully compatible with 4.32 update-4?.
I´m asking since it seem that after the update, the “particles.ini” file has been overwritten… and that is possible for a good “reason”… so … Will there be any incompatibilities, if we overwrite it again with the “particles.ini” from “Tracerrico.rar”?

This is what i will add to the tracer mod for U4:
Its the bullet high speed crack sound Nothing for the in-pit hard core BMSer but perhaps something for the outside-view guys?
