You can’t start the trail with such a small size… We need to compromise a bit (Too small start size will create many more particles for the trail, and will always look that “Dashed” because the particles are very small)

What you are trying to achieve isn’t practical with the current trails. Possibly we will need something a bit different for Wingtip trails, but unfortunately I mean mainly changes from code.
You may try to use in the trails definition a trail.type=tape, but it was long time since i tried that so not sure if it’ll be any better, or work at all.

or you mean the [trail.initialsize] ?Yes that would be the alpha value, 0.75 makes it very strong as you can see, 0.25 indeed sounds much better but everything to be tested of course.
BTW you can make changes in the .ini while in 3D and then use chat command (i.e SHIFT-T) and type “.psreload” for all effects to reset and recreated, very much useful when working on PS script
