IMO, it would be easier to add the decals with LE. Select the polys, then copy them and put them in a subtree. Add a decal texture and reassign the poly’s to that texture. Make them ptype 21 and you should be good to go.

LS1. How does the original author can tell that this was his model?
2. Will help much to use it as a base to make other stuff… For example I don’t know how to make the Tank tracks…
And once again the whole Falcon is based on the copy paste from others… so this is a minor I believe… -

I think for new models and it’s dimensions WaveyDave’s LOD exporter is all you need.
Also if you look at some buildings in the DB, there are some with the wrong scale.
IMHO the only purpose of lod3dsconv is to export models to work on them in 3DSMax,
but with all those talents around I think it’s better to build them from scratch.Cheers,

You can export larger model in several parts. Split on *. blk, then convert *. blk to LOD then LOD to 3ds. Ultimately it all put together (LEGO) in 3dsMax.

But all moving parts need to be moved in 3dMax… And I know that it sometimes works not well. Poly’s missing edges (two triangles with their touching side missing making it a messed up rectangle) which you have to fix before moving on. And in those cases it not one but many you have to fix. It’s not a perfect tool, but it’s all we have at the moment.
