Pit builders USB hub advice?
-
Can any of your pit builders advice me on a good USB hub solution. Since i updated my system the new MB does not seem to handle the usb connections as good as the old one did, and i’m getting devices not being recognised, and messages there’s too many USB’s connected.
I’m wondering what kind of solutions you guys with many USB connections have come up with
Cheers.

+1
Unfortunately I don’t have any good advice because I had to abandon hope of using USB hubs in the past. I will keep an eye on this thread and hope we both find some good things to try.

I have several USB hubs, all have been trouble free. The key is they are all powered. Don’t use anything else but powered.
-
@Fish44 Had a USB hub for over a decade now. That one is retired, using one that is about 3 years old now. Never had any issues. Perhaps as Badger said, it’s a powered USB hub. Some have issues when the hub is 3.0 so would advise buying USB 2.0 but mine is 3.0 with no issues.

Thanks guys. That’s good news to me. I’ve got a powered USB 3 block ordered. Was just checking there’s no special requirements with a lot of stuff plugged in.
-
I have also a powered USB 3.0 hub with stick, throttle, pedals and webcam and zero problems.
-
I use a powered USB hub too, zero issues. One thing I have found very useful with mine is its individual on/off switches for each slot. That way you don’t need to plug/unplug so much
-
I have multiple powered and inexpensive USB hubs (Amazon ) and they work flawlessly. Keyt is powered as has been said.
-
I use hubs too, and as mentioned, I only use powered ones - so +1 more for that.
Also, I’ve read of issues with trying to use USB 2.0 controllers/devices on USB 3.0…so I only run my controllers over USB 2.0 hubs and into USB 2.0 ports. I reserve USB 3.0 for my USB to VGA converters, and display extraction. So far, so good.
