FALCON 4.0 HISTORY - THE MUSEUM
-
@Brabander I remember a moment in the “Luchtmachtmuseum Soesterberg”, that Ervani arranged some Lan know -how people and equipment, to connect more then 30 contenders for a first big lan sessie… a morning spent, no go…those where the days…
-
@Nurse Yep, I remember that too but I have no clue what year that was . . . . Looooong ago. I think we’re getting old . . . . (uhh, I hope we do . .)

That says a lot that there is a Falcon 4.0 Box edition on their desk!
They were checking how high the rod was. and laying them down to catch up
-
@Dee-Jay WOW! I wonder how old that pic is! The style of mouse, keyboard, and monitor, not to mention that laptop all clearly date this image… I’d assume just after the turn of the century?
-
I’ve posted this video elsewhere, but it deserves to be here. The 209th Delta Hawks in all their glory…
-
And more of Gilman Louie (circa Falcon AT Days. His interview starts at about 5 min)…
-
@JollyFE Nice video.
Gilman was involved in many projects with the USAF since early 80s. Some sources even say he used to work for some “company” as analyst. No spoilers here on how Falcon 4 and Gilman and USAF had a cnx…I will tell that story in part 3 of my series on dynamic campaigns.
After SH and MP merged and went bankrupt, he founded another company for real software (no games)… In-Q-Tel. Totally funded by federal money, classified stuff. -
Jane (6:09) : Take that!!! , You dirtbag you !!!

@tiag Hey Tiago. You beat me to it with these. I hope you’re keeping well.
-
@Griffin Hey Gary. Here is all good, still killing Migs and SAMs :-). Greetings to the 185th!
-
@tiag That’s good. I’ll pass on your greetings.

How much time
It is a shocking thing to me that the F4.0 + its legacy now means a longer time period than from my birth to be and adult then since until today…
I was able to acquire the SP3 or SP4 around late 2003 or early 2004.
(18 years vs 19 years)

@molnibalage …Look this Molni… I still have all in my HD

2007, REDVIPER introduces ‘6DOF’. 6DOF was an important step along the road to VR.

Ah i thought they were related on the road map of falcon BMS. my bad.
I don’t remember anything else out there at the time with 6DOF, except MSFS2004? (or the tweet add on to it). But it’s recollection, so could be wrong. Was the BMS version you refer to widely available? I remember two branches, FF and OF.

Yes and Open Falcon was the direct precursor to Falcon BMS, had 6DOF already in 2006(?) or so.
