@Radium
Oh okay, hope to see the M2 and MK2 too then! What about the Su-34? Maybe you can consider doing a semi-fictional Egyptian Su-35S skin as well? -
Hello everyone,
Let’s wake up a bit this thread. As many of you saw, I started a cockpit for IAI Lavi, but as you can guess, it’s extremely long to make a cockpit (probably one full year), and I don’t want one full year without any new release.
So, because it was still a bit missing in our database, I decided to start the conversion of my T-10 series (yeah, I just tried to find a name for my whole work, and as I just hate NATO reporting names… here we go with the real name of the program).
Nevertheless, don’t take me wrong : I am absolutely not pro-Russia ! I am just neutral and like to call things by their real names.
So, Here was the difficuly : I started Su-33, which was already a modified Sukhoi Su-27. Then, I did the Sukhoi Su-35 which was itself an heavily modified Su-27.
Nevertheless, Sukhoi Su-33 geometry was globally closer to Su-27, even if a huge number of modifications were needed, then, here I am.
Don’t take me wrong : this model is not just a skin : it’s a whole revamped model, with a lot of additions (or removal), reworked uvw, new post processing for textures, corrected AFM and OFM files, everything.
If you feel that some perspectives are strange, it’s because it’s an orthographic view.
I will then plan to make several liveries :
- Soviet VVS green nose light blue camo Sukhoi Su-27 - 1990
- Russia VVS white nose blue camo Sukhoi Su-27P - 1995
- Russia VVS late three colors camo Su-27SM - 2010
- Ukraine PSZS Su-27 splinter camo Su-27S
- Chinese PLAAF license built Shenyang J-11 - 1999
Stay tuned !

Hello,
some news :
Back spine is now fully done. A lot of adjustments were also achieved on the structure.
I have to adjust wings and work on the landing gear.
Stay tuned !

Your models and texturing are absolutely Radium!
Can’t wait for this baby to be in BMS!

Seems that some progress on the Iranian front is made with the Su-35SK.

Totally agree!!

@Radium
Hey!!
Had some problems with J-15 fm/afm. (Balkans th. , but same acdata/model in KTO).
Since it is Su-33 (a)fm , applies the same.What happens is engine(s) stall damage when “jerking” aoa/negG on big alt >25-30kft , and speed >1mach.
Just crank it up ~30kft full throt/ab , then rock the plane a bit - just as soon “enough” negG? - both/single engine stall / damage.,
sometimes one, left/right, sometimes both.(btw, engine damage smoking is reversed, left engine smokes but right is stalled and vice versa)
You have some updated fm/afm , or is it final ?
Cheers
And, Oh YES, , nice “Cobra” with paddle !!!
-
and weapons, this doesn’t do with you, … but it is completely too sensitive in BMS… just jerk around too little and already damaged weapons/hardpoints … completely sensless
I’ve seen fully loaded Su-33/35 doing cobra on demos… do that in BMS - kiss your weapons MAL -
also , had to update CSS-N-8(YJ-83K) (misdata) - you’ve used AGM-84 SLAM data - in 3D they are falling short ~+60nm… for range sake should used SLAM-ER , imho better fit - now they cruise nicely

Hello white_fang,
will have a look about it !
@TOPOLO , @Mav-jp do you have an idea ?
Gentlemen, here is some news :
Exterior model is now ready. All modifications to shift from Su-33 to Su-27 were done, texture is now on the final stage. I also reused my Lavi’s afterburner system for this Su-27. IRST was also centered, as it should be on my Su-27.
Also, after thinking about it, we will have a unique Su-27S model, for Su-27. Reason is simple : I know that some late Su-27 were produced, like SM/SM2/SM3, but I have no idea if they were even mass produced. Also, J-11 is a derivative of Su-27SK, then Su-27S. Also, because I do not want to have two models for DB (an error I did in the past for Su-35), I want to do only one single model. Also, I consider that later Su-27 series in BMS will be represented by my Su-35.
I also just finished to update main landing gear, I will start now the specific nose landing great.
Then, we will be ready for betatest !
Stay tuned,
Radium

There were 48 Su-27S converted to SM standard for the RuAF. 12 SM3 aircraft were built from knock down kits originally produced by KnAAPO for the SAC assembly line and the 3 or so Su-27SKM for Indonesia were also built from those kits, which were retained by KnAPPO after the Chinese ceased licence production of the Su-27SK (J-11A). Su-27SM2 was a never realised major upgrade proposal utilising technology from the Su-35S. It might be noteworthy that the SM had its IRST offset to the right and the SKM and SM3 were also equiped with IFRPs.

@Scorpion82 Hello, very interesting, thank you for this info. So, a Su-27S was definitely the best choice !

@Radium
you are welcome. Would it be possible to create a second skin set with white di-electric fin tips and nose radome as well? -
@Scorpion82 Hello,
Not sure I understood, nevertheless, alongside with the livery I am doing, I will do :
- Russia VVS white nose blue camo Sukhoi Su-27P - 1995
- Russia VVS late three colors camo Su-27SM - 2020
- Ukraine PSZS Su-27 splinter camo Su-27S - 1995
- Chinese PLAAF license built Shenyang J-11 - 2005
Cheers,

@Radium Master!

@Radium I do not believe anything need to be changed in Su-33/J-15 FM: As a general rule negative AoA in supersonic is prohibited, we clearly have no idea what would happe IRL with a Su-27/33…, but i do not see any reason why engine should not stall in such condition
I will try to take care of your Su-27 as soon as you complete it (and as soon as I recover my network connection… I’m still waiting after 3 months for that)

Yeah I’m on same page… but … of course there is a but, … it doesn’t happen in F-16 tho
Imho, fm needs a tweak, or soften aoa limiter for M+.
Seeing all acro manev this birds can take…
For God’s sake , it is a STIFF RUSSIAN BIRD… and not some pansy sorry ass paper plane.
(btw one other dcs sim doesn’t have such … problems)
Just my 22kopeyke,Cheers

There exists a Su-27SK manual on the internet. It possibly has an answer to that question.
