@ Metalhead: Think also that, if you want your work included into BMS stock install one day, you must fully comply with requirements… 100k polys is faaaar toooooo much … 50k is still far too much … you must reach 30k maximum.
Please take a look here : https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?7220-Modelling-Organisation
I told… 50k is “for me”

I LOVE IT. A reason to fly BMS again, game was getting stale. Anyways two problems. I am familiar with LOD Editor and have followed your steps and implemented the cockpit, switches, wings etc… it all works. However ingame my aircraft skin is literally black with the HSD on it the RWR. All my MFDS are on my plane skin which is black. I have put in your dds files to no avail. Probobly something I overlooked but help on that matter would be great. Also My TrackIR doesnt seem to work in your pit. Is there another thing Im missing or not implemented.?
-
ok fixed both issues. But it appears the first skin set on the F-22 is going to to stay un-skinned? And in regards to the RWR are we just suppose to use an MFD to substitue or is that something we will be able to use on one of the other MFDS in the future. (we Shouldn’t be detected or shot at by anything in BMS anyways)

I am sorry about the textures are black, the rwr not showing and other bugs.
I will try to explain how to fix some of these errors, except track IR, I do not know nothing about it. I even do not have anyone at home.
I was tired in the middle of the night when I wrote those manuals, explaining the functionality and the installation.
First: about the black skin. open the lod editor, in the ct records page, click vehicles and find the f22, wich is the ct 166. parent 1331, click in the normal button. find in the parent page something related to “skin set” and change the value “2” by “1” just 1 skin set. It I believe, will fix the black skin.
Second: the rwr don’t showing. Open the BMSconfig file inside the folder “user” open it with notepad. Find something related to “RWR back on the mfd’s” set it from 0 (zero) to 1. It will fix the rwr issue. It will be showed in the mfds.
Now I am in the public internet, I am not at home, and I can’t remember exacly the names of some files, so if you do not find the config file I meant here, tomorrow i will write the correct name. I will come here prepared.
About the model have 100 k, I will try to reduce it , but I need to know how to use the 3dsmax first.
The model was drew using AC3D by inivis, and when I exported the model from ac3d to 3dsmax, it was exported with all triangles, I need to know how to delete the edge beteween two triangles and make the surface squared. It will reduce the amout af polygons by half( I believe) -
I need to know how to delete the edge between two triangles and make the surface squared. It will reduce the amount of polygons by half( I believe)
Incorrect. A square is made up of two triangles. Triangle count will not be changed.

Thank you my friend Fabrizio for your hard efforts.
Looking forward to this great project mate and keep it high, yes you can do that ;)!
Your friend Nikos.P.S. My friend Fabrizio, about that “The model was drew using AC3D by inivis, and when I exported the model from ac3d to 3dsmax, it was exported with all triangles, I need to know how to delete the edge beteween two triangles and make the surface squared. I am going to release a first version (BETA TESTER version) I hope the people who download and starting flying this aircraft, please give some feedback.
Hello to you, Fabrizio.
Congratulations for your well detaliled work, first of all. Then, please count on me too for some testing work and impressions about after.
Returning your regards,

DaveThanks for you reply. I understood.
Can you teach me how to reduce the amout of polygons in the aircraft model for a number that will match the requirements of the comunity?
I have read something about using an “Optimize modifier”, but I am afraid it will damage the model appearance.Other thing: I added the F4switches for “aircraft decals” and the F4switch number 10 for engine heat animation. That when we increase the throttle to the max afterburner, and the engine chamber turns from dark to light yellow, simulating the “heat” It worked , but in the "max stage of the afterburner, it disappear, do you know why? what am I doing wrong?
About the aircraft decals, I believe I can not test it single player, and I do not have Z-bias in my 3dsmax, I did not find it. I found just “render control” and I do not know what is it for.
I have the 2011 version of 3dsmax, and installed the last version of the 3dsmax lod exporter, I noticed some changes, but I did not find changes in the manual. Will you update the manual?

The Seat is blocking vision behind you and to the left and right.
By the way you were correct with the overheating process I think I left the other switches alone and it seems ok for now.
-
about the seat blocking the vision, I will see what I can do for it, maybe change the location of the eye point in the 3dsmax , moving the model a little bit down.
-
Ahh crap! I thought I fixed it but mid mission shortly after take-off the engine overheat again and shut off. I’m at a loss. This doesn’t happen in the F-15 or F-16 im not sure whats going on.

I have testing The F22, and this “overheat” stopped happening here in my computer, I do not know what is going on either. Maybe flight model issue. As the F22 was very low utilized by the comunity because of a cockpit does not exist, It may have problems that we do not know. I figured out when I switched on the EPU, it was overheated, and I stopped using EPU. I did not know that I could not use it , except in emergencies. The same happened when I fly with either mil power or afterburner every time, so I keep the throttle between 85, 90 % when cruise, and if necessary mil power and AB.
It need to be tested much more, till we find the problem, but I will make you know that I never change anything in the Flight model file, even a “comma” or a “dot”.
only the 3d model. Please, talk to someone who understand a lot the flight model file, this person, may find the problem, I am not able to do that.
The F15 and F-16, are large used by the comunity, since the beginning of falcon 4, both probably had errors in the past, and was fixed.
Thanks
Best regards

I figured it out for certain this time. Normally in the F-16 you have to set the ENGINE FEED! to normal. On review of your pit and manual I didn’t see you reference this on your call backs. And when in the pit if you macro engine feed to normal and switch it. The AAR lights switch on the left panel I believe becomes active. In summation the AAR switch is the engine feed knob turn it or you will fall out of the sky. Don’t worry metal we will make this raptor pit infamous. Lol again thanx for all your work

My sincere apologies to everyone who downloaded the F22, and is testing it. I am really sorry because I did not write correct the Manual. (I will fix it)
The “AAR LIGHT” Is the engine feed knob. I did not changed the label because I wanted it seemed to the original F22( based on the Images I have from the internet. But I will change it, and then anyone will NOT be confused. I was thinking this morning in what you said above, about the engine feed, and was imagining that perhaps the bugs you’ve found was about either “Engine Feed” or “Air source” that I can’t remember If I wrote in the manual. I will check the entire manual tonight.
I will update it because there are updates that are working very well, including “instruments lights” working correctly at night, the “aircraft decals numbers” and others I can’t remember now.
thanks for your reply, and thanks for your help.
Thanks to everyone who is helping. Much appreciated
Best regards

Hmm at lease you got to see the black skin I was talking about now. Is it possible to get those other MFDS too work so We can get an RWR in there? And I know on the one MFD it has Jammer there but it doesn’t inform you if the jammer is on or not like the F-16 has that green light. I can never keep track if its on or not after getting into a dogfight
