Kneeboards for simpit builders
-
Howdy everyone,
I have been looking but unsuccessful at finding the kneeboard data on .pdf to print. Does this exist and if so where could I find it? If not I guess I’ll recreate it and post here somewhere.Thanks in advance,
Gordo -
Does ez boards do what you need?
I haven’t used it, personally, but I’ve seen it mentioned a lot.

@Gordo
I use an iPad mini for charts, lists and diagrams
Then printed missions on a MXU-163P -
@RalphROV
I’m a bit confused what you want to do… do you want to print it or use it on your iPad?
If you do want to print it, you’ll have to do this for every mission and possibly even have to cut it down to size to fit your kneeboard, as opposed to exporting it on an iPad – quick and easy.I kind of see the point for checklists as this is a one-time print-and-use thing, but for mission-specific data?
-
@RalphROV - +1. What I’ve done is to make .jpg of all of my Checklists and charts and put them on my iPad as Photo Albums. Then all I need do is select and flick through, like a RL kneeboard - without even needing to connect anything to BMS.
-
@Atlas Basically I use the printed paper(s) on my kneeboard for mission specifics, I used Weapon Delivery Planner a lot.
Now I fill in pre-printed charts, that is easy because mission planning is a thing anyway in BMS.
On the iPad mini I use databased stuff, like charts of airports, checklists, emergency stuff (but in my little perfect world never needed:-))I don’t prefer the sim to connect with my iPad, maybe pre-planned mission info uploaded but not realtime interaction.
In reality pilots work like this and that’s how I prefer it.
Because I literally sit in a 1:1 cockpit and physically have those strapped on my legs, so that’s the reason why.
Sometimes in full gear when we create insta content.Besides that I made A5 size binders for the theaters I fly in and keep those in the map box.
There so much good stuff included in BMS that is worth to print and bind.Creativity is your friend, so do whatever is good for you like Stevie says working with jpegs, perfect.

@RalphROV
Apologies there, I got your statement and OP’s statement combined and mixed up hence the confusion on my part. -
@RalphROV said in Kneeboards for simpit builders:
@Gordo
I use an iPad mini for charts, lists and diagramsSame, iPad1 mini and DropBox/GoodReader synced on my WeaponDeliveryPlanet and Mission folder so I have all the Com’s card and Data card and Map Overview synced anytime + all charts & checklists.

@Atlas
Sometime just 1 kneeboard at the left -
Rocketbook and similar erasable notebooks work great for me for this.
They really work and are erasable as long as you don’t press the pen too hard. You can even draw the documents “permanent” lines and writings with a non-gel pen, so they stay there and won’t get erased by accident and then use the gel pens for the mission-specific details that change from mission to mission.
