Unsolved Flare light reflection

No modsUsually, particularly at the beginning of a mission, when I release a flare, the brief bright flash/glow of the flare floods my cockpit in a satisfying and realistic way.
But often, after the first few times, that cockpit glow doesn’t happen anymore when I release a flare. I can hear it being released, and I confirm that they are dispensing in external view, but the cockpit flash doesn’t happen in cockpit view.
This happens on Tiger Spirit, Rolling Fire, & Iron Fortress, in all types of mission. I fly F-16 only.
I’m wondering if this is something that happens only to me, or is this a common issue?

…the brief bright flash/glow of the flare floods my cockpit in a satisfying and realistic way.Not necessarily 100% “realistically”. Because the flares goes down and light should be +/- masked by the air-frame. BTW, It would/can be a pain by night under NVGs.

Are you sure it is flares or chaff that are dispensed in the sequence?

My preset sequence that I use as a default dispenses 1 flare and 1 chaff. Furthermore, when I check via external view, I clearly see a flare being dispensed. That’s why in my original post, I mentioned confirming it in external view.
You’re right-- I’ve never been in a F-16 cockpit in flight at night while flares are being dispensed, so I have no idea if it’s “realistic” or not. But that’s the way the BMS devs programmed it, and I’m just wondering why it works the first few times and then doesn’t work other times. Thank you for your input.

I am waiting for that flare glare to be removed. It illuminates the cockpit like the aircraft is not there at all.
-
@AviationPlus - Like I said earlier, I can only guess what the visual experience actually is, but I agree with you that it’s probably not as dramatic as it’s displayed, especially during the day.

So it is confirmed.

That is indeed the right question.

In general, the only time a fighter pilot will actually see his flares is at night…and it will also depend on the kind of flares he’s released. And I’d think that if he’s releasing flares in anger that he will be far more occupied with other things than registering the flash.
He shouldn’t see any “flash” from chaff at all - the squibs pop before the the bundle even exits the magazine. One can spot that on a FLIR, but not visually.

Stevie, I assume you’re speaking from experience, and if you are, then you need to let the BMS devs know that it needs to be fixed.

@SoBad - I’m not really sure that it matters that much, other than having no flashes for chaff, and adjusting for night.
Also - as a point of common sense, you don’t want to flash-blind the pilot…so in general you’d design/place the Dispensers in such a manner that the effect as viewed from the cockpit would be minimized.
Yes - I’ve shot a LOT of flares/chaff over the years. A LOT…generally during daylight hours.

Yes, I was always a little bit annoying to see this glow in the cockpit. I tought that it is the engine limitation to see the light trought the fusealage . I hope this will get rid of in the new engine/ model file format .Because if the flare is activated bottom of the AC, how can we see those in the cockpit? It is blocked by fusealage and the wings.Maybe if the AC has a upper dispenser like the mig29/szu27 or the Gripen. but I don’t thint those couse such intense light in the cockpit like in the game that we can’t see anything just the yellow light.
