Solved Upgraded CPU/GPU, now Falcon BMS won't start

Please make sure to properly uninstall the old graphics driver and then make a clean install of the new graphics driver.
To properly uninstall the old one i recommend DDU driver cleaner in safe mode.

First thing to try is to delete your d3d11.dsp file…
If that works, visit the Setup/Graphics tab to re establish your preferred settings for AA and such
I was so tired from driving 700 miles yesterday and so frustrated by the issue that I just went to bed after I posted. Then I literally woke up at 3am last night thinking, “Why didn’t I try deleting the *.dsp file?”
That did the trick. Thanks yet again, Tex, for your insight.

That’s great you’ve solved this issue. Don’t forget to post some FPS figures in various, but replicable scenarios (some TEs maybe?). We needs more info about performance impact of certain hardware upgrades.

Will do. Gotta update my sig first.

Per @Xeno’s request, reporting in:
I just got my first chance to put this upgraded rig through its paces tonight, and all I can say is: This is the moment I have been waiting and hoping for about 40 years to experience and enjoy.
For quick reference, I ran the Benchmark TE with everything maxxed and I got ~135fps.
So I then put together and ran a multi-flight campaign mission from QwangJu airbase, in VR (Quest 3), set for 4k resolution, plus a 1.2 multiplier. With several other unrelated flights taking off and landing. In a thunderstorm.
I got 72fps at the airbase. Smooth as silk. 4k resolution limited ONLY by the current quality of the BMS terrain, but the cockpit was almost photorealistic. The overall view, both in the pit and outside the pit, was as sharp and detailed as it is on my 4k desktop. The tiniest print was crystal clear on my kneeboards. I could see aircraft up to 10 miles out-- they were just specks, but I could see them flickering in the distance.
When the terrain improvements come out in 4.38, can you imagine?

@SoBad 4.38 will still challenge your GPU in VR, but it’ll be mostly OK
-
@I-Hawk I like challenges, as far as I’m concerned you can easily release 4.38

Gee, will it cut my frame rates in half and give me only 35fps in a worst case scenario??? I think I can live with that.

Here with a RTX-3090, 3120x3120 per eye and MSAAx2 and everything on/maximized I’m getting ~45-55 FPS most of time. I think your card will do fine

@SoBad Thanks, your rig performs just marvelous. It’s great to have another point of reference for estimating BMS performance.
