Hi Gents….
Wasn’t in the mood of modelling today…so I did a small vid nothing fancy but some small details…enjoy
I’m having some trouble with the wind shield glass behind the hud, maybe somebody can give me a hand. Basically when I put the windshield with some transparency and some reflections the HUD projection disappears. It seems like the wind shield object is hiding the HUD information (projected in infinity). Anyone knows how to solve this? There has to be a way as the F-16 does the same thing. Any help would be appreciated!
Good night!

Put the screen in the cockpitcanopymodel.
In the ckcpit.dat file there should be a cockpitcanopymodel 9999 entry. This is the parent number of a model that has the canopy and rtt surfaces. There should be a separate model for the HUD.

Thanks Dave…
It seems you have a solution for all my problems in life… Will soon start asking for financial advice, relationship issues and holidays recommendations
Will try this evening but I’m sure that’s the issue… Thanks…

The mirrors are working! Yey!

The a/c model could do with a more detailed and higher resolution texture map, the 3d model itself doesn’t need to be more detailed for fps reasons, but a better texture can often cover up the deficiencies in a low poly model. puns wherever you see’em

Oh yea,
3D Model needs to be overhauled too.
I see some smoothing groups errors on the tail and triangulations errors on intake area, but for 3k tris is the model good. -

I see some smoothing groups errors on the tail and triangulations errors on intake area, but for 3k tris is the model good.As most of the time we don’t see the exterior up close and personal, i haven’t been really bothered with the 3D external model so far. It does strike out as a bit sub-par only when joy riding and taking exterior snap shots. Even when flying against the turkey, we never see it that close for these deficiencies to show.
EDIT: not that i would mind if someone came up with a better model
