Is it possible to covert *.xun files into something readable please?
I mean xun2txt or xun2xls etc util. I tried to rename xun extension to zip, rar, 7z … but it is not soo simpleTHANKS
-
Nope, you can’t.
Why would you want to?Gr Falcas
-
Because I placed a lot of units in the past. Now I want to edit them outside tacedit. It is handy as well as with objectives. I guess there are others interested in it too…

That doesn’t aswer the question, why would you want to edit the units or objectives for that matter outside of MC?
Other question, what would you expect to edit when having the units as a text or xls?Gr Falcas

X, Y offset for example.

X, Y offset for example.
You have to be a bit more clear, X,Y offsets for what?
But lets it keep things very simple, editing is all done with TacEdit or MissionCommander. You choice.
Everything that is in the .xun file is from MC, so if it makes sense that you can edit it, you are able to.
Or the feature is not build in yet.Gr Falcas

We are speaking about units. So my example was all units movement/shifting along X and Y axis.
Sorry for my english. -

Sorry for my english.Moving/shifting units does not make sense all the time.
Air- Squadrons can already be moved with MC, see move to airbase function.
- Packages, doesn’t make sense to move them, so not possible.
- Flights, just do this in BMS itself.
Sea
- Taskforces can already be moved with MC, see taksforce part.
Land
- Brigades, makes no sense to move them, so is not possible.
- Battalions, You can move them to objectives in MC or you can move them in BMS itself. Changing there STPS (route) does not make sense because they follow the roads in the theater.
Maybe this will give you some insight.

See the first post for the latest version BTW.
Latest version of MC is 0.3.5.0 at this time.Gr Falcas

That new map feature in the latest version is very nice.
Moving/shifting units does not make sense all the time.
Even so for me the possibility to move whole theater objectives + units does make big sense.
BTW Just ask campaign developers whether they found external csv objectives editing handy or not.

I’ve got a quick question about MC, that may or may not have been covered before:
If I create a flight, say ‘Avenger 1,’ and I want to add an escort to the package, the escort flight’s target has to be set to Avenger 1. If I were to change Avenger’s callsign in MC would that mess up the escort?
-
one way to find out!
I dont think so though.

Hi,
No, changing the callsign of a flight will not have any influence on targets (escorts).
The longer explanation…
Every unit (flight, package, battalion ect) has it own id number. Every link that needs to be made between units (flight, package) or target (objectives, escort flight) is done with this id number.
The callsign of a flight is not used as a link.Gr Falcas

Hi ALL!
I would like to konw if with this great Tools i can choose to have a war scenario in wich:
- Blue fight against Red but not with an other force (ex. Yellow)
- Yellow fight against Red.
In more simple words… Red agains the other two.
Many thanks,

Political section isn’t done yet. for setting team relationships you could use tacedit.
No, you will be setting this in the Political section but in the Team section.
Have a look under Teams->Relations.
This should work fine in MC.Gr Falcas

Hi Falcas!

I still plan to improve that part of MC, just to make it more clear what you are doing and showing the relations.
However I am pretty busy with other tools as well.Gr Falcas

Hi Falcas.
No worry. I will check update. I do so from 1998…from Microprose Falcon 4.0 era.
Many thanks for you and your passion.
