OF mods: JanHas, realism patch?

Make sure you have the DLL’s mentioned in the manual and you point to the OGLLOD.exe when you use the 3D viewer for the first time. Without those two DLL’s 3D-viewer won’t work.
@ Molni, in these cases it’s very hard to figure out the cause. My guess it’s a hardware problem…?
About the LVN’s. I haver adjusted the BE, DK, PortAF, NL and 52CJ. I still have to adjust the 52+'s and the C40/C50. At the moment my homework for my study landscape architecture has the first priority so the LVN’s are on the back burner for the next few days…
the dll’s are where they should be but where do you point the app to OGLLOD?

m8,
When you click ‘view’ the viewer gives a popup window to locate the OGLLOD.exe that’s the viewer of course. If you don’t get that popup window, I think you just need to reinstall… but it’s Jan’s territory of course

Fanyeah, I’m going to reinstall everything and try it again.
when I set the button to 3dveiw instead of replace and toggle say lod1 to view the viewer opens then says ‘‘where’s falcon’’ then it crashes

yeah, I’m going to reinstall everything and try it again.

What do you mean by everything? Entire BMS??
Just
From what i read, your problem is not falcon related so reinstalling just LODeditor should be enough. -
Guyz, LodEditor is not an application that needs “installing” - “reinstalling”, it does not write data on the registry or elsewhere, so you can copy-paste and move the folder that contains the lodeditor files to another machine or partition and run it from their directly.
In order the 3D-viewer to open, displaying the actual model, it will request you and you should manually find and select the OGLLOD.exe file that is also located withing the LODEditor folder. Upon selection it will open the 3D-viewer and you should see the model. If you accidentally select another .exe file instead of the OGLLOD.exe, it will always crash in any future attempts to view any model (it happened to me in the past). Only solution was to delete the entire LODEditor folder, and paste another copy of it (eg extracted from an archived zipped file), to the same or another location. That way it will request you again to find the OGLLOD.exe and will operate normally.
Place any .lod file to your desktop and double-click it, it should automatically open the 3D viewer and display that actual .lod model. This without even running LE, just to check that the 3D viewer works. If it crashes, do the above, delete the current LE folder and paste another one.
When firing up the LODEditor.exe, it will request you to find and select a correct KoreaObj.HDR file, this is located to x:\Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Terrdata\objects folder for the default Korea Theater, if you want to check models for other theaters you should look on x:\Falcon BMS 4.32\Data for any Add-On theater folders. Again, and if you have not performed any of the above (view a .lod directly from desktop or a folder), the first only time you select the 3D-viewer button it will request you to find and select the OGLLOD.exe file manually.
If all these are working ok, then you should be able to select a model > select Normal button > click the Edit/Replace/Export/View button above LOD Indexes until it shows View Mode, and then select any of the View LOD# buttons to see the 3D model and its details.
Hope to cleared things out 4 u.

Thanks for the detailed info. I will try this today and hopefully report back some success!
Will Janhas be releasing that highly detailed model with the next BMS release or will we get it before?
That modeling/texturing work is out of control I cant look at the sim and not be distracted after seeing his work. I almost would have preferred not knowing about it till its done! With the up-most respect “Release the Kraken” dude!
Is there a thread that BMS uses to inform users on development progression?
Thanks again!

thanks its working!
followed your explanation and everything is happy happy happy!

No more plans for the Norwegian F-16?

No more plans for the Norwegian F-16?
That plane is already 100% ready… I have adjusted the 52+ models. Only block 50/40 to do. All will have a lot of small tweaks and fixes…
-
I noticed it wasn’t listed on your website, was the reason I asked. I also have a quick question on the Block 52+. What’s the difference between PX3 and PX4? Google search keeps changing “PX3” to “PS3” -_-
-
PXIV has this more than PXIII F-16 BLK 52+:
Link-16
Digital Video recorder
Reconnaissance system: Goderich DB-110
There are other differences, but those are the main ones.
PS: HAF plans to upgrade its BLOCK 50 and 52+ PXIII with L-16, to make them more NATO compatible.
PXII was the acquisition of BLK 50 and PXI was the acquisition of the BLK 30’s
-
Noticeable difference between PX3 and 4: the antenna under the intake and no Lantern nav pod. The real PX4’s have only a handful of TP’s and no NV pods.
-
Hope to see RNLAF launchviper
Polly out -
@f4.0:
Hope to see RNLAF launchviper
Polly outModel is 100% done. New Litening pod has been added also… It’s a beauty!
I have added the new parts to the block 50 and I’m now adjusting the skins. Adjusting the 50 into the 40 is not much work. With luck I can have them all ready by tonight…

I hope to get a 77th tail for the 50. I have to ‘kit bash’ the tail from your Stopgap skins and fit them on the new 50 tail :nosep:
EDIT Something is strange with the 52+ and 52+CFT. I tried installing them in POH and the PX4 gave me white textures, but PX3 works perfectly. I also tried installing them in KTO: Both PX3 and PX4 work, but they keep the old skins. The .dds files for the new models are 2711-2722. The .dds files for the 52+ in KTO are 2505-2515.

The upgraded models are ready. The models have another name: LVN2. Due to the upgrade the old LVN skins won’t work with the new LVN2 models. I will release a set of PSD’s later this week. You can get the LVN2’s at my website. http://www.launchvipers.com/bms.html
NOTE!! The amount if skin sets might have changed, check the jpg’s!
NOTE2!! I have added upgraded wing models as well, you have to install them too. I have an manual available on the same page!
I also added the ALQ-131 model to the download page.
Available models are: BE, DK, NL, NO, PortAF, 52+, 52+CFT, 40CG, 50CJ and 52CJ.
New parts are: ailerons, tails, static wicks, nose, intake, lights, HTS, Litening TP, refuel hole (when open more following curve of the plane), Carapace and a huge amount of model and skin fixes.
The P&W engine is now finally in the right place! -
Just awesome Jan !

I wonder how you manage to study with all these efforts on the F-16 models.

The next two weeks I have to give priority to the study…

i wish you all the best with your studying and personal life projects, i can only immagine the quality of your work in architecture, based on what you deliver here, all the best and hang in there Jan
