Israel Theater Release
-
Thanks Echo, that was indeed the issue. Sorted now. Cheers.
-
Any word on the stuttering I get often in this theater, thanks!
Very nice work BTW.
-
Not sure, but I think it might have to do with number of objects in small theater. I was only getting stutters in early stages of campaign and only near crowded airfield. I see you are flying TE’s so you could do some testing with number of objects and placement to see if that helps…or wait for better advise from Echo7.

Nice work with the latest version of the Israeli Theatre, but I´m having a hard time with SEAD missions: I know it´s been discussed here that the HARM and Mavericks were put out of the theatre as IAF doesn´t use them anymore, but there isn´t the equivalent weapons from IAI like Spice, Delilah, Gabriel etc… How can we perform those SEAD missions without proper standoff munitions? (no AGM, I mean…)
cheers!

You will need to mount a block 50/52 to use HARMS.

GBU-38s can give you stand-off-ish capabilities, and the jammers on the IAF jets are very effective. You can get within ~9nm of an SA-6 and 12nm of an SA-2 without being fired on, for example. From high altitude you can switch from CCRP to MAN mode right when the toss cue appears in the HUD and chuck a GBU-38 about 11nm. I like to take out SA-2s by doing a low (<500’) loft attack with the same CCRP -> MAN method to get a good 9nm out of a JDAM while staying below radar.
SA-11s and -17s I haven’t figured out how to deal with yet.

@Mower:
Stuttering is a graphich card issue general to BMS, ITO just makes it more intensive. All pilots in my squad (185th) solved the stuttering by turning off the focus shadow. Now everyone using the latest drivers with very high fps (60fps). Cheers -

In the BMS configuration options.
Settings Hardware -> Shaders -> Shade Rendering -> Shadow Mapping

Also some (most) pilots in my squadron don’t experience it, while others do.

THX for all the work
Great theater

GBU-15 has proved to be a suitable weapon for taking on SAMs for me, but I presume usage of this weapon is frowned upon due to its improper modeling  .
This also makes it very inconvenient to use, as the display has insufficient magnification for longer ranges. -
I have an issue with helicopters in Israel Theatre. Although in flight planner I’ve assigned them to fly at 100ft or 1000ft at max, they fly above 20.000ft and after a while suddenly they drop to 5000ft and then again to 10.000ft and so on. It happens with all helos both in 2D and 3D.
Any ideas?
-
@Mistic J
Are those helos that you aded via Mission Commander ?
I am asking because i tried to add some AH-64D’s in the default KTO, and when trying to create flight plans for them to go attack a tank unit, my BMS started to act weird. The squadron namaes were all gone (for the helos), and after creating 5 flight plans my BMS CTD’s.
Dunno if it is a helo problem in BMS in general.
-
The helos are added within BMS, te_new.tac. In Korea they work ok.
-
Confirmed for 2D. In 3D (once deagg), the helis descend to their assigned altitude. If you do see high alt flying in 3D too please post acmi.
We will look into this.Cheers
-
Hi Echo. They dont appear at high alt in acmi. Only at low. As if they dont exist before. In 3D they behave exactly like 2D
-
FYI, in Battle of Sinai theatre they work ok too. I believe theater.mea should be updated again.

Hello echo, been busy but did get flights in occasionally. Anyway day 5 about 0900 hrs. I think I ran into a stumpling block.
Still playing everything ace, I dont have enough ground forces to win ( well, lets say, theyre all defending something and I cant get them to move ) .
Tryed assignments in 2d map, they move, than back to defend after about a minute.
ground war not moving at all, only thing left is capture beirut, everything around beirut destroyed.
Just cant seem to change orders for a unit or two from defend current position to attack, changes then reverts back.
What am I missing ?
With the odds of 4 to 1, it was a good campaign, kinda hate to stop but unless I can change a ground unit to move - –-
I have troops defending deep in home territory that i could sent up to attack beirut but cant change theyre orders.
Or is it just the way I ran the campaign, set by hq off.
As far as i can tell, you were right about using ace settings, hmmm -
@ oldtommyboy,
Go back and read post #167. Maybe you forgot since your an old fart! :uham: I couldn’t resist after reading some of the posts in your old farts thread. I definitely qualify for that group, but at 42 I’m still in the shallow end.
You may not see the ground troops in Beirut on the 2D map or the recon images, but believe me they are there. I think it is mainly an arty battalion that is keeping your troops outside Beirut at bay.
