Project Licenses Plates

have u seen the process how to do it? Doing so even for one years time I don’t believe its worth of doing so.

reread the thread and you’ll discover I have done more than just seeing the process…

Zbias Node
The Zbias node is used to eliminate z-fighting, or nodes fighting for front position in the
Z buffer. The z-fighting of runway/taxiway nodes were fixed by adding Zbias nodes before the
first node and after the last node of lod. Zbias is needed on the a/c model logo patch nodes.
Select Zbias in the AddNode window dropdown list. Two Zbias nodes are required. The first
node starts apply the zbias to the follow nodes (by node number sequence, not tree position).
The 2nd node stops offsets by setting zbias to zero. The zbias values range from 0.0 to 1.0.
Usually, zbias values of 0.1 or less are enough to set the nodes away from the opposing nodes.question.
@Buzzzzzz:
The problem with ptype 21 node is, that it is no ordered correctly in the z-buffer. In consequence, its place inside the model tree, relatively to the nodes from the main surface, is very important. In the tree, the marking nodes should allways be below the surface on which they are applied. Otherwise, they won’t appear in-game (they would be rendered behind the main surface).
does this mean that the zbias node will not work correctly?

Is there a manual available to get this going?

Assuming license plates are made for each pilot flying in MP together,
what is required on each players install (all having the same modded install I presume)
and how are the different a/c selected by each player to get their own “license plate” within the 2D BMS mission scheduler? (selected in the load skin chooser?)This is going to be built into 4.33, is that correct?
What of being able to select unique skins, is that also being worked out?
thanks

Everything you can check on Mirage. No need to wait for 4.33

you get your own plate by being in the right seat. #1 pilot gets tail number #1, his wingman gets #2, etc.
this would mean you only get 4 different tails, but that is per skin - the normal skin chooser still works, so you can have other flights pick different skins and thus get different tail numbers. If two flights pick the same skin then they get the same tail numbers.
Tossing up with doing this again from scratch and getting it working properly, last time I did anything on it the numbers were the wrong color I guess due to the ptype.

With the F22, you can have different tail numbers, even with more than 4 ships airborne, IF you install it, and all the textures that are available nowadays.

I feel I should clarify my statement to explain that if each skin has 4 tail numbers and you have 6 skin sets you can have 24 tail numbers…
-
And if you multiplex the db as per my thread’s shots, you can simulate each squadron down to the last bird.

Regards Metalheadjanhas f18 does too, as well as some of his f16 models.

I dont know what multiplexing the db means, but I would be very interested in finding out more about simulating each squadrons birds…

Whilst they are nice pictures it doesnt actually explain anything….

Two years ago I did a similar experiment …

Is there a way to non repeating skins in a package of ex: 2 flights with same A/C ?
-
sure, if they are PLP equipped models and each flight uses its own skin (two skins total for two flights), then you can have 8 tails across two skins.
That is doable. What I am interested in (right at the minute) is how you get a single flight to have different aircraft types in it…

I was told that is a reality or very close to it… believe it’s something to do with recent Janhas work…
