I’m missing building structures for the hot areas. ITO/BfS EMF etc Would nice to see not only buildings, but also blocks. With 10 different blocks of low poly Beige/White buildings you can make the small towns and l\places look good fast. By rotating the models, varying the textures some, it doesn’t look alike from above either….

Hey great work there Radium, looks great!..…I had this crazy idea that maybe the terrain elevation itself could be manipulated to look like a lot of buildings for Seoul etc, avoiding importing new Lod’s and FPS hit, don’t think its possible though??.

Thats a good idea, but you need a good spatial resolution between elevation points near your city to create the kind of vertical surface you have in a city (building facades, etc).
AFAIK, elevation data is in a X/Y grid. So :
-> either you have a full grid with, say, 1m resolution, so extremely memory consuming ;
-> or you have a grid whose resolution can do “smart changes”, near cities, or sharp mountains…
But this would certainly need to redesign a part of the terrain model. -

Raduim quite honestly theres always going to be guys whining and complaining about this that and the other, your work is great and appeciated, as is ANY improvement to the sim no matter how little. Some guys just need to realize that if they dont like something they should get to google and learn how to do it themselves……

Let them cry if they’re not happy with your job. They’ll probably make better textures than yours for sure x)Too many unnecessary details are irrelevant since we don’t usually fly at 10ft AGL/50kts.

I do not remember exactly but Arty make his citly block project not in this way. In short, it is not a good idea. For ex, because you cannot change terrain therefore these building cannot be destroyed and many other issues prevent this way.
