That is exactly the Bird I was talking about. Before this gets OT guys let’s move the skin discussion to Tomcat skin thread

Very nice, Nizmo ! Thanx

What a beauty!

Damn, that fits way better than I expected. Very little distortion indeed. Moving surface positions on wing topside also look good.
Now I can begin to remove the assist lines and adjust panels for external stiffener positions etc. and unwrap the remaining parts (positioning lights, stiffeners, etc.).
Thanks for posting :D!
PS: Take a good look at the front end profile shot guys - the nose/canopy/fuselage proportion is close to perfect. Very rare for Tomcat models…

Indeed, for some reason most models always fail at that……

I am gathering information from an structural engineer.
I have family who flew 337TAS/731TAS out of Westover AFB. So getting some details and pictures as we speak.
I will also be planning the C123K as well as the C130E.
Thanks for your interest!

Thanks for the great work Nizmo.

Arty,
thanks for that, I didn’t know that site. I have multiple blueprints and 100s of reference shots, it’s always a balancing act because no blueprint is 100% accurate and there are differences between A/A+(B)/B Upgrade/D panels. I’m trying to get the most accurate result for the non-A Tomcats. However, I have already used that blueprint you posted for some areas so thanks for sharing!
Once the panels are finished I’ll post some skin previews here.
Anytime, Baby!

Glad it helped…
this site has a very good library for blueprints and vectors… though u have to pay for vectors… but blue prints are ok and if they are clean or cleaned with Corel Draw u can convert them to vector in a snap and then save it as dwg (AutoCAD) and then Import it in 3ds… way better for 3ds designers then a plane with a photo in it.
