Check this out
. The interesting part starts from 4:35-Commander Looks-like-James-Tolkan: “Who’s outthere doing the F-14 walk around for the TV guys?”
-Lt. Random-Deck-Officer: “Maverick and Goose.”
-Commander Looks-like-James-Tolkan: “Great … Maverick and Goose.”Sorry, couldn’t resist quoting; the resemblances are too obvious, lol

I quite like the yellow high-visibility Swordsmen tailfins myself:
Some other images which were a bit too large to attach:

I was in VF-32 from 1994-1998. GYPSY PRIDE!
Our skippers bird had blue tails with yellow swords and a blue skunk stripe from the nose to the middle of the planes back in those days.

Did you fly Tomcats?

Did you fly Tomcats?
Oh no, I was an ‘Aviation Machinist Mate’. Basically a power plant and fuels systems technician. I did get to crawl all over the plane and sit in it. At night I used to go out and pop the canopy and close it and pretend I was a fighter pilot, LOL.

Lucky bastard! Even sitting in one would make me go crazy just from excitement.
Wish I could at least see one in person T-T

You are right, i was in a Fulcrum durring ramp start. Amazing!

Still probably most fun you could have with pants on!

I like your style, I would if I could.

Awesome Man!
Thank you [emoji144] -
Agree…very nice. Will the mirrors work in the final iteration?
db
Normals are looking good, maps are ok, more work to do.
Some entertainment.

Looking really good. You 've implemented a TV receiver in a MFD for CNN, did you ?

Hey Nizmo, looking nice. How are you planning to handle the tomcat’s swept wing…? Does BMS have the code to handle it automatically, or is there a call-back you may have to use to manually change their position?

Yes, the FM takes care of this. I’m not sure about the manual sweep, although it is “Factory” to have manual sweep, I will try.
-
Ok, so the FM can control the model and automatically sweep the wings fore and aft depending on the airspeed? Cool beans.
-
The FM seems very nice as for the F-14A one I was allowed to fly around with.
Now we need the pit as flying a default Falcon Tomcat pit equals to visual pain. -

The problem is the aerodynamics. The FM handles as the F-14 that wing sweep is just an animation and FM data is set or designed to be set as the wing sweep settings is always optimal. So if you override this with manual wing position the result would be very strange for ex a supersonic F-14 with minimal wing sweep setting…

it is going to be so awesome to fly a full 3-d pit tomcat. and the work done on it is amazing and gargantuan and i thank you so much.
one thing, i think we discussed it before and maybe you said you were fixing it, but these panel angles….should the edge of the panels not be more parallel like so? (very faint dotted line)
]Ill get some new renders up, but I have re-aligned those console parts.
There is an angle to the side consoles and front panel that is hard to re-create. The side consoles are spread further apart at the front and closer aft. I will get it correct.
