Regarding the FM, I still feel way too powerful the performance of F-14.

Well, that’s opinion. You’re flying an F-14B that beats F-15Cs in ACM. Let’s not turn this into an F-14 performance debate- let’s put that in a separate thread with facts (which will be difficult as F-14B/D performance NATOPS is unavailable- you can get the fuel consumption and emergency data). Our opinions don’t matter, I like your testing and knowledge but you really don’t have anything to compare this to and that statement without reasons or facts just incites a flame war. Check the rarely used search engine, Google.com, and type F-14 vs in the search window- it should list many long winded armchair commandoes with degrees in anything but engineering, thinking its a bad perfomer because of the size and weight thing. They read the listed wing loading(only of the swing wings, not the body) and use their primary education to deduce it must be a bad performer. It’s strength is the radar and long range shots, and its size makes it an easy tracking target, but that’s it. G-loads are restricted carrying Mk-83 and above size bombs but that’s it. Everything else, external tanks included confer 6.5gs without an inspection, and anything above that is a conditional inspection(this will check for cracks and torque values) and then the jet goes flying. Go find and spend some time with any F-14 driver above 1500 hours and talk to him about F-14 performance. They will tell you that clean or center tank only F-16s and F-18s are very tough to beat, but that’s it. You can fight them to neutral until they run out of gas all day.
If you have credible criticism, please list your source and reason first.

Here, this will clear some things up for you……;)

All,
What the Turkey is stating here is true overall,
I have had the pleasure of being acquainted with a U.S. Navy pilot since we left High School in 1975. He has flown both the F14 and the F18 as well as the F4 and many others in his 20+ years of service to us.
As we talk now about FalconBMS (yes I insisted he install it…just for GUAM…LOL!!!) he states that BMS is pretty close with the FM’s as he has known.
“Pretty Close” from a recently retired USN “Jet Jockey” is close enough for me……;) There are only Nth% in the world!!!
Nuff’ said,
demer -
…“pretty close” ? well thats dayum good enough for me too!!
By the way…
Anyone know why I have no cockpit engine sounds? (outside is fine by the way)
I only get afterburner sound inside the cockpit.
…heres hoping its something simple…

The wings will remain the most detailed aspect of the this project in terms of modelling and textures aside from the cockpit that is.
Sweep it, Baby.Look at the cute little logo…! Who has a logo…? Who as a logo…? It’s you, isn’t it. Who has a logo…? It’s you…!
Hee hee… cute little diddums…

Performance envelope curves which can be used for comparsion. They are quite exact…
It has been a long debate even overlayed comparsion has been made and major conclusion was that at low-subsonic speed at lower alt F-14B maybe can close to F-15/F-16 but at med-high alt and high subsonic and low sueprsonic even F-14A is simply powerless in vertical maneuvers and F-14B has only slightly bigger thrust…
I’m not a noob in the topic, such bullshit values as wing load, t/w ratio are not used to judge the performance of a figther.
-
Go on, turn this into another pointless fight a la F-35 and it will be closed once and for all in no time

Molni et al,
I sincerely hope you’ve read and understood Red Dog’s post, we’ve invested too much time in this project to have the thread derail now and then be sent to out of space.
There is an F-14FM thread, feel free to post there!
This thread deals with the model and the pit first and foremost.
Thank you.

It was just a personal comment, I can live with this FM, just simply a bit strange to me flying such a powerful Tomcat.

I share your sentiment but I do not think that you need to hit that tone like you’re calling for it to happen. We got 60 pages full of on point posts and discussion…

you prefer me to let it degrade until i close it without any warning ???
please tell me, it’s less work for mei’d rather think it’s more fair when you guys have proper warning, but if you prefer not having it, fine

Lets just re-iterate any BUG issues “haha”, post them on the F-14B bug thread.

There’s way too much time here invested to let them close it.

Are you using the F-14 Training TE?
Its not a F-14/B. Use the TE-Editor to fly the B-Model -
Hi guys.
Did a bit of digging…
for those with no sound within the cockpit visit this thread here:

I dare to ask - but will future developments of this pit include sounds in future? -

I dare to ask - but will future developments of this pit include sounds in future?Absolutely, and it is my fault for not including it into the installer.
I will be posting a Major update to the F-14 later today, I will also include the sounds.
