RELEASE: Blk40/42 HUD Mod
-
I will try to make a video about it. It is not so easy as long as this is your only goal and all data are available to define the LODs in LOD Editor.
Ok cool. Looking forward to the video

Here is the pack, I do not know when I will make the video.

a stupid question sir…
Only change the B40s model or if I install it I will change all the cockpits in F-16s when I choose a B52 to fly?
-
Only Block 40/42. I used these LODs in my MOD and only Block 40/42 has it.
-
Thx sir

Molni,
I see the pilot body/legs stuff in the files you uploaded, but is the Block 40 HUD stuff in here?

Molni,

Both Block 40 cockpit but one of the LOD with legs and the another is legless because users without Track IR do not like the variant with legs, because some switch has no access by mouse clicking. The LODs contain everything the difference in pilot legs.

Thanks for uploading the files Molnibalage!
I dont understand how i should extract the seperate .dds files from the single LOD file. Im trying to apply the LOD with the pilot legs but this is as far as i get.
Can someone please explain me step by step how i should apply this LOD?Thanks in advance

After install I had ENTER button on ICP performing like button (3), 3dbuttons file wrong, ‘SimICPTHREE’ is down for ENTER button, needed changing to ‘SimICPEnter’.

Hi, installed this mod but dont see any difference in the cockpit, same hud etc? I used the installer. I’m just running training missions at the moment, will that make any difference?
-
This may seem like a trite question… but are you actually flying a Block 40/42 aircraft in your training missions? It will only show up on US aircraft with those block numbers… and only in the Korean theater.

Not at all Greg, im running a clean install of bms, and have been using the default F16 in the Korean theater, wasn’t aware there were different types available? New to this mod, and i have not really taken a good look through all the options.
Thanks

If you create a new Tactical Engagement with the TE Builder and then specify either an F-16 Block 40 or F-16 Block 42 as your aircraft, you should see the Block 40/42 HUD mod in place. There is a way to add it to other Block aircraft that involves using the LOD Editor, but I’d only do that if you’re comfortable using the LOD Editor.
Hope that helps!

This seems to me a different Block 40 cockpit. Any idea where can be found?

The size and position of HUD markings especially the fixed gum aiming crosshair seems to me different.

Track IR neutral or POV neutral position shifted up and/or closer. That is all (?)

That’s me. It is the same block 40 HUD/model in this thread. Nothing special. I just do the Track IR trick (lean far back in the chair, center track IR, then sit in normal position and zoom FOV all the way out) which makes the HUD symbology smaller in the HUD, and IMO makes the cockpit seem more 3D because I sit up and close. I get asked all the time what modded cockpit I use whether block 40 or 50 because people say it seems darker. I don’t use SweetFX - it is just the way the video comes out in Vegas when rendered as MP4.
-
By looking at this thread I think that a lot of people would really appretiate if someone has the patience and time to write down how to manually add the cockpit because auto installation reverts all model based mods back to stock? I’ve personally tried something but I only ended up with pilot hanging in the air with a couple of instruments arround him - most probably I didn’t append correctly other LODs with the parent… Thank you.

I will try to do tomorrow.
