Exactly which DB are you trying to get the parents list from?? Just so we are clear!!
About the empty parents?
There are no empty. So you get nothing cause there is nothing to get.You are 100% incorrect. If he is trying to get the parent list on the stock DB, though there are no empty parents, it will still generate a list of the Hardcoded parents!!
@Cloud:
But if you do use the 3DDB /parents command on the stock DB it will generate the Unused parents list with the hardcoded CT#'s!!!

Arty, maybe you should read the thread instead of just posting things that are not correct??

If you want you can also use last parent +10, doesn’t need to be +1.
I leave a gap between the last KTO and first CET from about 500-1000.
The next update of KTO will contain new parents but these will not interfere with the CET specific parents.Just some advice… first learn what the benefits are of all the new DB stuff.
This will make your life in the future a lot easier.
As well as looking at the new features the BMS editor brings.Gr Falcas

Maybe allocating some slots to each theaters could be a something practical in the future.
Such as a range … Balkans from 5000 to 6000 , CET from 6000 to 7000 , EMF from 7000 to 8000 … etc …
… or …
as a dedicated “id” like 1 for Balkans, 2 for CET, 3 for EMF … etc …
So that starting from 5000 (for example) each theaters could use his own allocated Id.
Balkans: 5001 ; 5011 ; 5021 …
CET: 5002 ; 5012 ; 5022 …
EMF: 5003 : 5013 : 5023 …That way we could have then 9 different Id allocations dedicated to the nine main theaters …
Thoughts.

C9 I read it. Sorry if im wrong.
Looks obvious since there are no empty parents to get no result, but you know better. thanx for clearing it out. -

Way to complicated and not needed at all.

What happens when there’s 13 theaters??!!!?? :uham:
And what constitutes a main theater?? :suspicious:  :noidea:
Of course these are rhetorical questions, so no need to elaborate Dee-Jay!!! LOL

Yep, this is what happens when you don’t have a written uniformed manual of modding this great sim, more like gossip and hear say, and good luck in getting desired results

You are correct, and that is a shame, but there’s really never been a comprehensive manual at all through the history of Falcon.
The problem is, there is just way to many things that would have to be written into a complete manual, it would probably far exceed the amount of pages included in the US tax code/law, which as of this date is 73,954 pages!!! :uham:

Yep, hell must have froze over we finally agree on somethin, well it would help to get a link to a up to date lod editor that would be a start , I know for a fact a installer could be attached to a mod ,because someone here was nice enough to hook me up with the f-4 pit and that had a installer and directions to install it,…

HAHA, the LOD Editor that works best for BMS is 6.23: http://www.mediafire.com/file/5ntgx3vqrzab8ce/LEv6.23.rar/file
There are further updated LE’s, but they aren’t available and really don’t work for BMS, and the LE programmer, sadly is no longer with us!!!

Wants to add a new a/c?
Extract 3DDB.
Add Parent folder with Parent.dat file and LODs.
Rebuild 3BBD.
Create your new a/c CT in the DB. 'easier is to duplicate an existing one)
Declare the new Parent in CT.
Create/Declare the aircraft.dat to be used. Can you help detail how to “create your new a/c CT in the DB” and “Declare the new Parent in CT.” and “Create/ Declare the aircraft.dat to be used”?

Thank you for the link. Sadly I’m saving my pennies and combing through the furniture for loose change to get a new game box to run 4.34 I’ve done about all you can do with 32 to get me up to speed in this sim think I’ll fly some traps with the hornet and tomcat.

Start the BMS Editor and look around.
If you don’t know this tool, really asking how to add anything to BMS is useless.Gr Falcas

You know what looks good in the F-22 is the f-16 pit blended with the f-22 wing model, you can change cockpits around just as long as you know the parent numbers found at C:\Falcon BMS 4.32\Docs\Other Documentation\Database - Cockpits

Cockpit parents are in the cockpit files. In this directory “\Data\Art\CkptArt” find a lot of sub directories.
Each one is for a cockpit. The name of the directory can be the Parent number of the AC model, the name of the AC as in the database or the same as the NCTR of the AC in the database.Inside you find a file “3dckpit.dat”, open this with notepad. Look for cockpitmodel 1234; This is the parent number for the cockpit used.
