F-18 flares wont launch

You are quite lucky if you know drag, weight, weather conditions, engine setting, etc just looking at a bad resolution HUD video.
Just a piece of advice: be scientific

you can see the real hud video and is enough to read real data, and others real videos match with the bms f-18, i’m sooooooooooooooo lucky… well not me, the F18 FM is so lucky
-
just compare the f18 in bms with real hud videos about speed in knots, mach and altitude and compare the real data with the sim
It’s already been said, but because you get similar results to some videos you found means absolutely nothing… data, data, and then more data.

OF COURSE, the computed data is totally GARBAGE And does not mean nothing
-
so, why i get the same results than real video?
You didn’t get the same result. The simulated jet is at 2x the AoA compared to the real one.

Same results, just pull a little up while screenshot…… Pffffffffffffffff

Lol. Ok buddy.
Being at the same altitude, at the same speed means nothing. You could do the same thing in a 737.
I’m not making a comment about the realism of the F-18 in BMS. I’m just saying if you want to compare it to real world info, this isn’t how you do it.

Hi!
I don’t understand what you are showing on those two picture? … We see nothing about perfo comparison nor anything related …
-
…the first thing I noticed is that the HUD isn’t drawn right. Other than that, yeah…there’s nothing that a direct comparison can be drawn between.

trying to learn the F/A-18 and just doing some dogfights. My flares wont deploy, just the chaff.
it seems like its stuck in auto mode and is chucking chaff when it detects a hostile radar but disables flares.
I’m learning EWS stuff, so forgive me.
Hi, Vyrago,
I fly the Hornet a lot and can confirm the flares do work. If I may make a suggestion…- Go into the DTC portion of the User Interface(UI), then the EWS Tab. Make chaff prog 1 one chaff only. Make flare prog 1 none.
- Then go to Chaff prog 6 and make it none, and flare prog 6 and make it one only.
- When you fly, run in SEMI mode.
What this will do is-CMS forward gives one chaff, and CMS left gives one flare. SEMI will give warning when something locks on, but will not fire dispensibles. AUTO tends to blow through chaff/flares quickly.
If you want to get fancy, while you’re in the UI,set up the c/f progs 5 for 3 sequences of 2 dispensibles each. That is you Slap prog
